The Role:
Import and Export Compliance Specialist

The Import and Export Administrator provides logistics and expediting support to the Company leading to compliant, effective movement of goods globally to fulfil our internal and external customer requirements. A minimum of 3 years' experience with IPR and other customs procedure codes is essential.

* To prepare, issue and review all domestic and international shipping paperwork
* To monitor all shipments, trouble shoot when necessary and communicate accordingly with customer services / destination
* To issue import/exports clearance instructions, expedite and review all import/ export declarations for completeness, requesting amendments where appropriate
* Ensure compliant export and import documentation and maintain records for audits for export controls and HMRC
* Work with the EU Trade Compliance Manager to implement and maintain company trade compliance processes relating to import, export, supply chain security laws and regulations
* Monitor trade compliance and report any violations to EU Trade Compliance Manager
* Ensure compliance with EU, UK and US import, export and trade sanctions, and embargo laws and regulations.
* Identify circumstances in which UK or US licences are required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualifications / requirements
Essential: A minimum of 3 years hands on import and export experience including IPR.
Preferable: Sound understanding and working knowledge of the following trade compliance laws and regulations:
o EU UCC regulations
o UK import/export control legislation and regulations, including the Export Control Act 2002 and the Export Control Order 2008

Working knowledge of the following required:
* Experience of working with customs brokers and freight forwarders
* Experience of CPCs and procedures in particular IPR
* UK Export Licences (OGELs, SIELs)
* Ability to use the UK Trade Tariff for HS code determination
* INCOTERMS
* Implementing new systems, processes and procedures

Personal Attributes

* Ability to communicate with personnel at all levels of the organisation
* Ability to work autonomously, high degree of flexibility
* Attention to detail, organised.
