The Role:
I am currently recruiting for a Project Manager for our Client, who has been awarded a multi-billion-pound rail contract for the South of England. This is to deliver renewals and enhancements in Anglia, the South East and the South West regions. The role exists to lead and be accountable for the AFA (Access For All) rail schemes in the Greater London area, ensuring that the scope of works are delivered in a safe manner, on time, to the required quality standards, meeting the acceptance criteria and achieving the expected financial outcomes. As such we require an experienced proven Project Manager, with AFA experience and direct delivery contractor experience, that will work across 3 sites in and around the Greater London area and whose responsibilities will include:
* Managing a portfolio of rail AFA works at 3 stations on behalf of TfL and Network Rail
* Line management of Site Managers, Assistant Site Managers and Section Managers
* To plan and deliver all work on the scheme, ensuring it is completed on time and to the agreed standard
* Responsible for effective client relationship management and provides updates to internal and external stakeholders on project/contract progress
* Responsible for all commercial activities associated with the project including the delivery of the agreed gross margin, management of cost control and other key commercial and financial metrics

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
You will be expected to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
* Extensive expertise in project management delivering AFA schemes
* Strong relationship management skills, and previous exposure to both Network Rail and TfL
* Professionally qualified construction representative - member of a professional body
* Project management methodology knowledge desirable (APM, CAPM, PMP)
* Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
* Previous experience on Crossrail may be advantageous
* Proven ability to lead teams, develop others, manage projects and assume client accountability in a commercially aware rail contractor
* Must be legally entitled to work in the UK
