The Role:

Responsibilities:

  1. To implement and maintain Shipyard QA/QC management system enabling continual improvement of quality assurance and control processes.
  2. Review the scope of work and identify the client requirements in terms of quality assurance and quality control
  3. Obtain , update and maintain client specifications and procedures during the project cycle and refer the same as necessary in the project deliverables
  4. Develop Project quality plans, project QA/QC procedures , Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), etc. basing the project requirements.
  5. Carry out QA/QC inspection / surveillance practice in keeping with agreed project plan / ITP,etc and generate on time reports.
  6. Document the detected/ reported non-conformities, investigate to identify root cause and ensure to implement effective corrective actions.
  7. Handle customer complaints , documentation, investigation, tracking and reporting the outcome.
  8. Review subcontractor/ consultant/ Third party QA/QC documentation for its adequacy and effectiveness.
  9. Provide quality solutions as per client requirements and deliver within budget and contract.
  10. Liaise, coordinate and support third party, specialist engagements (test/inspection/ study/ assessments..) as needed.
  11. Carry out fit up /welding inspections, generate required reports to confirm meeting the project specifications.
  12. Carry out NDE inspections as mandated in ITP and issue reports.
  13. Coordinate to define QA/QC objectives/ KPIs and ensure that repair / rework cases are systematically documented, investigated, root causes analysed and actioned for close out.
  14. Ensure that document control practices in keeping with project requirements are strictly adhered during project phases.
  15. Ensure Quality Records (QR) are generated , maintained and produced for verifications during audits, project reviews , third party assessments, etc.
  16. Review bid documentation and provide QHSE inputs for the proposal submission.
  17. Conduct, liaise, coordinate project and departmental QHSE audits and follow up to complete close out actions.
  18. Provide insights to work groups through subject specific training, lessons learned sessions.
  19. Perform any other job-related duties as assigned

Education Qualification:

  • Graduate Mechanical Engineer from a recognized university

Experience Required:

  • 5 to 8 Years' with experience in Marine/Non-Marine
  • Qualified Welding Engineer / Inspector (AWS/CSWIP)
  • ASNT Level II (MP/PT/UT)
  • Internal/Lead Auditor ISO 9001:2015
  • CAD Exposure
