Fircroft Qatar have been exclusively retained by our market leading logistics client to search for an appropriately qualified HSSEQ Specialist

The Role:

  1. Develop and implement a Project Level HSEQ Implementation Plan ensuring the HSEQ governance, standards, systems and framework is strategically aligned and embedded to the Management System.
  2. Manage initiatives to achieve the objectives of the Project HSEQ Implementation Plan
  3. Establish monitoring systems and processes to ensure the progress and success of project Implementation Plan, Programs, Initiatives and Forums are appropriately communicated to the Business Unit management and Corporate HSSEQ team.
  4. Develop, implement a framework that provides for the continued development of leaders within the Business Unit to achieve HSEQ objectives.
  5. Develop, implement and drive business unit HSEQ expectations to ensure that the Business Unit managers have robust processes in place to demonstrate the execution of due diligence.
  6. Effectively manage HSE subordinates, providing development and direction as needed to adequately support personnel and attain HSE objectives.
  7. In accordance with Incident Severity Matrix lead incident investigations, ensuring corrective actions are strategic and embedded.
  8. Responsible for making risk-based decisions on residual risk level to as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP) to recommend adequate control measures to management.
  9. Provide advice and recommendations with regards to corrective and preventative actions within assigned operational unit.
  10. Management and coordination of ISO/OHSAS international standards related activity inclusive of issue of corrective actions and monitor until completion.
  11. Ensure all areas of business unit are actively engaged in a constant process of continual improvement via quality management.
  12. To ensure all business unit SIPOC's, Process Flowcharts, Procedures, Policies and Forms in use are controlled, relevant and current at the point of use with any change, version, and issue management.
  13. To create bespoke business unit SIPOC's, Process Flowcharts, Procedures, Policies and Forms in order to provide business unit documented work procedures and processes, support business continuity, provide continual improvement and operate to international standards in line with client, contractual and legal requirements.
  14. Conduct high or medium level technical training regarding HSEQ activity for all levels of management and personnel.
  15. To manage special projects for business unit VP to improve performance and facilitate change at business unit level.
  16. Follow-up and provide technical support to operational managers and solve any potential conflicts needing technical specialist solutions or high-level intervention.
  17. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Education & Professional Qualification:

  • Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (Degree preferable)
  • Lead auditor for ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO45001.
  • Root cause Analysis investigation qualification (TOPSET preferable)

Professional Experience

  • 3 years HSSEQ management level experience (Advisor/Coordinator/Engineer level not suitable)
  • 10 years total HSSEQ industry experience in highly regulated HSE working environments Proven leadership and teamwork skills and demonstrated ability to influence others operationally and strategically within a HSEQ environment.
  • International Exposure is HIGHLY PREFERRED

Industry Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge of HSSEQ Management Systems
  • Proven success in the implementation of HSEQ Management Systems at a project level in accordance with recognised standards (wording such as 'maintained' or 'worked in accordance with" will be viewed as unacceptable)
  • Extensive experience in management systems with the ability to create bespoke processes to international standards.
  • Sound knowledge of international best- practices gained from global companies that operate in high- risk, high-consequence environments governed by stringent regulatory requirements.
