The Role:
Position Description:
Diesel Feature Engineer Our team is responsible for the Engine Control Features for all of the client's Diesel engines globally. We work with our suppliers to ensure the designed functionality meets our customer requirement and work with our Calibration colleagues to ensure that the control system can deliver targeted attributes. We are looking for someone preferably with a Calibration/Controls background to join our team to work on specific features.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for designing engine control features for the global Diesel engine team
- Creating professional requirements documentation
- Work with suppliers or in-house teams to ensure correct implementation of our requirements
- Testing and signing off engine control features both bench testing and vehicle
- Work with Calibration Team to ensure features support attributes
- Responsible for supporting rapid prototyping of new strategies and validation of fully implemented strategies.
- Support prototype builds, software integration testing and calibration teams as necessary

Skills Required:
- Fundamental understanding of automotive control systems
- Good office IT skills
- Good communication skills
- Full UK (or equivalent) Driver¿s Licence

Skills Preferred:
- Calibration experience preferably Diesel engine controls e.g. Air Path, Combustion, Torque, Aftertreatment, Fuel Experience with dSpace Targetlink
- Experience with rapid prototyping systems (e.g. DSpace, ETAS, ATI-NoHooks, X-PC)
- Strategy simulation/modelling experience (e.g. Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow)
- Fundamental understanding of system and software design

Experience Required:
Experience of requirements capture and system specification
- Experience of working with engine dynos or vehicle testing

Experience Preferred:
Practical experience of using ATI/INCA or other Calibration Tools ¿ Experience with engine control strategy ¿ Experience with software design

Education Required:
Engineering Degree to BEng/BSc or higher

Education Preferred:
Ideally engineering degree with Automotive or Combustion background

Travel - Lommel, climate trips Position end date 31st December 2017

Our Client is a large Automotive and Commercial Vehicle OEM, with a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering on a contract basis. These opportunities are typically based in their research and development facility located in Dunton which is the largest automotive technical centre in the United Kingdom.
