The Role:
Position Description:
Test Facility Engineer Liaise with engine programme / development and PDL operational teams to determine new test equipment and facility requirements. Liaise external supplier for delivery of above Develop test equipment and facility specifications in line with user/customer requirements. Determine accurate timing plans and financial budgets for the delivery of new Testing capability. Prepare and implement engine test facility investment plans and projects, meeting specification and timing commitments. Liaise with internal departments including Plant Engineering, Finance, IT and Purchase to facilitate project execution. Provide effective project management by co-ordination of all activities including procurement, installation and commissioning. Facilitate the enhancement and maintenance of the laboratory computerised testing capability, including PC upgrades, hardware support and repairs. Provide technical engineering support to test and development engineers, and test room operators. Determine new equipment training requirements and facilitate training of operational personnel as required. Support PDL operational team on program delivery Understand and align to FMC and legal regulation related to Health & Safety Proactive in Health & Safety

Skills Required:
Good problem solving and communication skills. Organised and methodical with excellent administrative capabilities. Experience of engine test equipment and/or electro-mechanical control systems. Project engineering / management background. PC skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and database applications. Good interpersonal skills. Organised and methodical An understanding of software applications and equipment for testing, data acquisition and control. Engine development and/or testing experience an advantage Health and Safety

Experience Required:
Project Management e.g. managed projects (large) Knowledge of engine test beds and equipment

Education Required:
Engineering / Electrical Degree

Our Client is a large Automotive and Commercial Vehicle OEM, with a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering on a contract basis. These opportunities are typically based in their research and development facility located in Dunton which is the largest automotive technical centre in the United Kingdom.
