The Role:
Leading a team of multidisciplinary engineers that are responsible for a marine maintenance and asset integrity contract, you will begin your new career implementing new configuration and data tools as well as driving a major maintenance interval program scheduled for 2020.

A broad understanding of mechanical, electrical & structural engineering is required to be able to liaise with the team, however, it is crucial that you are able to effectively manage a diverse team and implement positive behaviours to ensure optimal processes and performance.

This position is responsible for roughly 8-12 staff, and reports into the program manager who oversees 3 separate arms of the project.

Applicants must be Australian Citizens to be eligible for the required security clearances to fulfil the responsibilities of this role.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Overseeing and facilitating the planning, allocation and management of appropriate resources to projects and bids in line with portfolio workload forecasting.
  • Ensuring, through efficient professional development and skillset management that the appropriate resources, skills and capabilities are and will be available to support and anticipate current and future demand.
  • Monitoring the effectiveness and performance of delivery to meet the contractual quality, time, budget, availability and reliability objectives of projects and services.
  • Performing or overseeing audits, peer reviews and root cause analyses of problems as required and ensuring timely execution of associated corrective actions.
  • Actively contributing to the implementation of the organisation engineering governance regime, initiatives and overall business strategies and plans within AMS and across Maritime as applicable.
  • Developing and sustaining a good working relationship with multiple stakeholders, partners and sub-contractors.
  • Ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction (internal and external) by aligning the service offering with the customers' need.
  • Actively promoting and fostering a culture of communication, collaboration, co-engineering and knowledge sharing across the wider Maritime engineering community.
  • Lead, manage, motivate and develop a team of multidisciplinary of the technical, engineering and supportability disciplines Leads through empowerment and coaching.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

  • Appropriate tertiary level qualifications in an engineering / technical discipline with substantial relevant management experience delivering large and complex bids, projects and contracts.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a large and diverse multidisciplinary team with a focus on service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to engage, influence and negotiate at all levels with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and customers.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills and strong decision making ability.
  • Experience with change management and demonstrated ability to continually identify and drive the implementation of technical and business improvements and new opportunities.
