The Role:


This opportunity is an exciting new role, existing to ensure safety, quality, risk management, health and environmental safety for all site operations. Working on-site, you will have a challenging and rewarding position, where you will be able to showcase your knowledge and expertise across HSEQ in underground mining environments. This is an important hire for the organisation and will be as much about culture-fit as the skills and experience you bring. Offered on a 2:1 FIFO roster out of Perth or Darwin.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Develop HSEQ administrative systems in area of responsibility and maintain systems
  • Reporting all HSEQ related information to the HSEQ Manager/ Contract Manager and relevant parties
  • Risk management scopes/assessments (HSEQ related)
  • Develop, implement and maintain risk assessment findings/processes
  • Ensure compliance to control measures marked in baseline risk assessments
  • Recording, reporting and investigation of all incidents
  • Close out all incidents and implement updated processes to avoid future recurrences
  • Manage time-line on incident reporting and scope of the investigation
  • Training and development around safety competencies and capability assessments
  • Responsible for all internal HSEQ training and keep records for employees
  • Development and management of toolbox meetings and safety talks
  • Site audits for areas of responsibility and ad-hoc as required
  • Effective communication and development of processes and procedures
  • Attending all activities outside of normal operational tasks to ensure compliance and safety

Our Client is a leading drilling technology solutions provider, servicing Mining & Resources sectors globally and have recently won a number of new contracts in Australia. They pride themselves on providing adaptive and innovative solutions adapting their products to each and every client.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Personable, approachable personality
  • Experience with project planning and execution/delivery
  • Extensive expertise in incident/accident investigations
  • Previous experience in an underground mining environment (construction and mining)
  • Ability to demonstrate previous experience with quality management and risk assessment facilitation
  • Must have completed Mine Safety Training requirements, and have relevant tertiary qualifications and/or certifications/OHS diplomas
  • Experience with ICAM, IsoMetrix and further management systems would be preferred.
  • All applicants MUST have full working rights in Australia and have a valid/current police clearance
