The Role:

The ideal candidate for this vacancy should have Port/Terminal Background.

Key Accountabilities

Strategic Contribution

  1. Ensure effective cascading of the divisional strategy into sectional business plans to achieve vertical alignment and horizontal integration with overall business mission and objectives.
  2. People Management
  3. Ensure the achievement of sectional objectives through effective leadership and by setting individual goals, managing performance, developing and motivating team to maximize benefits.
  4. Lead the talent development initiatives for the assigned section, collaborating with technical and subject matter experts to ensure availability of talent to fit business requirements.
  5. Budgeting and Financial Planning
  6. Recommend and manage the preparation of sectional budget and monitor financial performance versus the actual budget spending while ensuring all sectional activities are conducted in line with departmental and overall company objectives.
  7. Strategy Contribution
  8. Contribute to the strategic planning of overall department by evaluating external business context and competitor environment, developing options for the future and proposing a general implementation plan that is in alignment with the long-term strategy of Client.
  9. Corporate Excellence
  10. Evaluate the effectiveness of current KPI's and their alignment with the departmental plan and revise existing
  11. or develop new KPI's to ensure the section is continually able to meet its strategic objectives.
  12. Closely monitor and assess the KPI dashboard for anomalies, conduct in-depth investigations to analyze the cause and develop viable plans to ensure the gaps are minimized and monitored on a consistent basis

Business Process Improvement

  1. Analyse monthly performance data for the section and pinpoint low performance parameters and assign responsibilities to teams for analysing root causes to ensure continuous improvement in order to enhance and optimise business processes.
  2. Business Continuity Management and Crisis Management
  3. Based on Client's long-term strategy, develop and implement crisis management objectives and recovery plans as well as mitigation policies and procedures for all business units within Client to ensure business continuity.
  4. Conduct a thorough review of critical business processes through BIA, including but not limited to, procurement, IT solutions and governance, fleet, operations, engineering and support services to ensure business continuity plans are accordingly developed.
  5. Identify hazards and risks that may potentially hinder the performance and immediate recovery of the company
  6. operations during crisis and emergencies.
  7. Based on the risk assessment develop alternative processes that would mitigate identified risks and ensure business recovery plans are developed and implemented accordingly.
  8. Analyse possible emergency and crisis situations, stimulate stress scenarios, conduct drills and exercises and identify corrective measures to be taken so that the company is fully prepared to withstand the effects of crises and able to swiftly resume operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Continuity, Crisis Management, Business Management or related fields from an accredited and reputed University.
  • Hold CBCI (Certified by Business Continuity Institute) certificate, Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) credentials or similar and maintain them through continuous professional development.
  • Professional membership of Business Continuity Institute, Disaster Recovery Institute or similar is preferred.

Minimum Experience:

  • 10 years of experience in Business Continuity and Crisis Management domains in large MNCs with at least 5 years of direct experience planning, managing, implementing and embedding BCM at multiple locations.

  • Market intelligence and awareness of international, regional and local business landscape and practices
  • Ability to scan the external environment to understand impact on the business
  • Decision making & problem-solving skills
  • Outstanding leadership skills and an ability to connect with people to drive successful relationships.
  • A demonstrable track record of working at the highest level and delivering outstanding results, including managing change and delivering on growth strategies
  • Ability to work with key stakeholders, senior executives, management team and external partners/advisors through collaboration & teamwork in a non-hierarchical relationship framework.
  • Good understanding of Qatar and GCC culture and working environment.
