The Role:
The Design Engineer will interface with experienced engineers for guidance and training. Daily responsibilities typically involve the review of drawings, review of inspection results, writing technical reports, performance of design calculations, electronic modeling of components, and presentation of results to senior engineering personnel. Individuals will also be technically involved in remote projects that may include travel to other physical locations in performing field investigation or inspections.
Job Responsibilities
·Design, develop, analyze and document product designs which meet the function, cost, reliability, manufacturability and safety requirements of RMS.
 Effectively communicate information to colleagues.
 Create 3D CAD models utilizing SOLIDWORKS design software.
 Support design efforts for 2D and 3D CAD layout creation.
 Perform equipment dimensional inspection.
 Review inspection reports and render engineering dispositions in accordance with established standards.
 Perform engineering analysis for projects to include preliminary designs and calculations.
 Assist experienced engineers while developing specialized engineering skills.
 The above list of activities is not all inclusive but a general representation of the requirements of a RMS Engineer II. This list is subject to change based on the needs of the Product Manager, Chief Engineer or the RMS Executive Board.
Qualifications
 Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
 Familiarity with solid modeling software (SOLIDWORKS preferred), computational analytical tools (such as ANSYS), and general office software (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
 Strong problem solving, organizational and analytical skills.
 Mechanical aptitude for machinery and ability to read and understand drawings, engineering standards, inspection reports and other service-related documents.
 Ability to manage multiple projects within assigned priorities.
 Ability to work with supervision and make independent decisions consistent with knowledge/experience level.
