The Role:
The role is a Senior Cost Engineer to support the Project Services Lead and Project Management Team to deliver standard, consistent and robust cost management frameworks and procedures to projects within the UK Brownfield projects area.

This role is expected to support the delivery of competitive projects, in the Subsea and Brownfield Projects line of business. The role requires close working with the project teams and counterparts in the Contractors organisations. It also requires a confident communicator, both internally and externally. They will enhance the Company's position in technical discussion through their professionalism and technical understanding. They will demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement, reviewing existing processes and working practice, to recommend and implement improvements.

The position will report to the UK Subsea Project Services Team Lead.

The position is based in Aberdeen.
Skills and Competencies
* Experience in upstream, downstream, brownfield and subsea project cost engineering.
* Familiarity with construction, commissioning and operational requirements and philosophies
* Experience is planning would be advantageous
* Qualifications: Degree/Diploma or equivalent
* The ability to work within a multi-disciplinary matrix team is essential. It is also necessary to be able to operate in the external environment, with varies Assets, contractors and co-venturers etc.
* A broad technical understanding and commercial sense.
* Strong communication and influencing skills
* Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
* A working knowledge of SAP would be desirable
* An understanding primavera P6 tool
* Expert use of MS Office packages (specifically excel) is essential

* Deliver, maintain and manage robust cost management frameworks, procedures and tools.
* Establish appropriate work breakdown structures, providing timely reports and forecasts of financial commitments and expenditure and implement the earned value process.
* Provide accurate monthly cost reports, and quarterly business reports, including feedback to Project Management on all matters concerning the project budget.
* Implement the project change control procedure, reviewing scope change requests, managing financial contingencies and allowances, against approved project budgets.
* Analyse trends to offer early warnings, assessing the impact of approved trends, to communicate cost/ schedule impact to Project Management.
* Review budget estimates, prepare bid evaluations and company counter estimates, in order to support contract award recommendations.
* Support the development and maintenance of project risk/ opportunity registers.
* Apply probabilistic techniques to determine and communicate the range of project cost outcomes.
* Provide estimates, records and forecasts for the timely submission in to investment documentation, partner funding documentation and the annual business plan.
* Provide ongoing analysis and review of both in house and contractor time writing and cost allocations.
* Develop positive relationships and liaise as appropriate with stakeholders and venture partners.
* Prepare reconciliations between earlier cost estimates and the current cost forecast.
* Deliver close-out reports, capturing benchmarking metrics, for input to lessons learned.
