The Role:
Our Client is a leader in systems integrator and micro-grid power system is seeking for a Commissioning Engineer - Hybrid Drilling who will participate in the testing, implementation and documentation of electrical systems for marine power systems. The candidate will participate in ensuring projects are well defined and administered in accordance with the agreed scope, budget and schedule, while providing high levels of customer service. This position requires specialist knowledge, and a high level of experience commissioning drilling systems fitted with energy storage (hybrid) elements.

The successful candidate will work on the commissioning phase of new build, sixth generation drilling vessels and will participate in the site acceptance testing and commissioning testing of the vessels electrical package.

REQUIREMENTS:
* Technical diploma related to electrical discipline and/or Electrician certification with maintenance and troubleshooting experience.
* Must have more than 5 -10 years field experience in testing & commissioning marine drilling systems and industrial automation and control systems
* Experience in the design, development and implementation of electrical power systems and/or control and automation systems considered an asset.
* Experience troubleshooting and maintaining marine power and propulsion systems considered an asset.
* Experience commissioning and troubleshooting VFD systems considered an asset.
* Marine/Offshore Vessel experience and understanding.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Experience commissioning marine drilling equipment equipped with hybrid technology that uses ultra capacitors energy storage systems
* Experience commissioning marine power plants with uncorrected droop generator configuration
* Experience commissioning marine autonomous thruster control configurations
* Experience commissioning high specification UPS systems with individual and cell level instrumentation and control.
* Experience in NX Plus C (medium voltage switchgear).
* Valid HUET Certificate.
