The Role:
A new opportunity has become available for an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join a leading Oil & Gas company in their Perth office with occasional site travel, on a 12 month contract. Key duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Implementing and managing HSEQ systems and tools relevant to division/business unit
  • Ensure all activities are performed in line with the Company Safety Culture framework
  • Actively seek out opportunities for improvement in application of Health and Safety management systems/processes
  • Understand, align and implement the HSEQ Business Plan
  • Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for HS foundations (Safety, Health, PS, HF, Investigations)
  • Work independently to deliver quality technical outcomes
  • Develop technical and leadership competencies as defined by HSEQ Capability Reference plan and Competency framework
  • Learn and understand the business context of work activities and assignments
  • Undertake trend analysis and analytics to drive improvement campaigns
  • Speak or present at Universities or industry forums on given topics

Our Client is an independent Australian oil and gas company with a global presence playing a key role in supplying energy to our region.They are one of the worlds leading producers of liquefied natural gas, helping meet the demands for cleaner energy from Japan, China, Korea and other countries in the Asia Pacific region.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience as a Health & Safety Adviser in the Oil & Gas (hydrocarbon) industry or similar heavy industry
  • Tertiary education in a relevant field is preferred
  • Trade base or similar workplace experience is an advantage
  • Must have strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage own time and priorities with multiple tasks, whilst managing/mentoring/coaching team members
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to manage multiple stakeholder expectations
  • Demonstrated/proven high level of resilience
  • Possess the ability to manage priorities in a changing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage others (direct/indirect)
