The Role:
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Metocean Engineer to join the team on a 24 month contract, to provide their expertise in the discipline. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

*Contribute to knowledge management and sharing in the Metocean Discipline and wider Civil and Structural Skill pool, including effective implementation of Lessons Learned from operations and development projects.
*Develop, demonstrate and deploy new technology to improve the safety and efficiency of onshore and offshore assets and new developments.
*Responsible for weather and ocean forecasting to support the Company's onshore and offshore assets.
*Responsible for provision and maintenance of Environmental Monitoring Systems, in conjunction with onshore and offshore facilities.
*Metocean design criteria for onshore facilities, offshore facilities (fixed, floating systems, response-based) and pipelines and subsea infrastructure using state-of-the art tools.
*Operability criteria for marine seismic data acquisition, drilling, offshore construction and maintenance operations, shipping and port operations.
*Scopes of Work for Metocean analysis services and field measurement campaigns.
*Responsible for work outsourced to suppliers, typically amounting to ~$5M/year.
*Responsible for the development and maintenance of fit-for-purpose Metocean MATLAB-based tools and data management systems within the Metocean Discipline.
*Demonstrate HSE commitment and leadership within the Metocean team and for its contractors.
*Provide specialist guidance to the Company's operations for tropical cyclone response, oil spill response and adverse weather risk assessment.
*Demonstrate commitment to Company values and leadership framework when coaching staff.
*Support the resourcing and recruitment strategy within Civil and Structural Engineering, including the coaching and development of Civil and Structural graduate engineers.
*Responsible for the delivery of Metocean services as allocated by the Chief Metocean Engineer.
*Responsible for following Company standards, procedures and implementing change where applicable.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
*Degree qualified ocean engineer, environmental engineer or coastal engineer
*Extensive industry experience within the oil and gas sector
*Experience with development of metocean criteria for design and operation of fixed and floating facilities, pipelines and subsea infrastructure, including response-based analysis.
