The Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Contracting and Procurement Adviser to join their team on a long term contract basis. As a Senior Contracting and Procurement Adviser, you will be instrumental in the development, execution and contract management of strategies and plans to deliver maximum value to the logistics function. This is an autonomous role where you will be expected to work with minimal supervision and guidance within a very busy team environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

This is a hands-on role where you will work directly with the business to define their needs and understand drivers, put together the contracting strategy, and delivery the strategy through the pre-award, award and contract management phases. Some of the day to day duties of this role will include:

* Ensure contracts, purchase orders and call-offs comply with the Contracting and Procurement Procedure.
* Prepare Category Strategies, Contracting Plans, ITT/RFQs, Authority for Contract Execution, Negotiation Plans, Tender Evaluation Plans, Contract Variations, and other approval documents associated with the contracting life-cycle.
* Continually identify and pursue commercial and cost saving opportunities within the portfolio.
* Ensure contracting strategies are consistent with the approved Category Strategy.
* Work with internal stakeholders to ensure adequate representation and visibility of commercial matters.
* Ensure delivery of business needs to schedule, cost and quality

Our Client is an independent Australian oil and gas company with a global presence playing a key role in supplying energy to our region.They are one of the worlds leading producers of liquefied natural gas, helping meet the demands for cleaner energy from Japan, China, Korea and other countries in the Asia Pacific region.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Considerable experience in managing stakeholders and understanding their drivers
* Demonstrated experience supporting Logistics within a large scale organisation
* Ability to operate independently
* High level of commercial acumen
* Demonstrated history of successful negotiations with large contractors and service providers
* Resources sector experience preferred but other background will be considered
* Demonstrated capability across pre-award, award, and post award activities
* Knowledge of SAP or similar system is essential

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Membership of CIPS is highly desirable
