The Role:
A new opportunity has become available with our client for a Senior Materials & Corrosion Engineer on a 24 month contract, Perth based with occasional site travel. The Materials and Corrosion team are responsible for the full life-cycle of assets, ensuring the correct specification of materials at design stage, through to building robust corrosion monitoring regimes to end of facility life. You will join a high performing team, who thrive on a variety of different and challenging workload.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To provide project support in the form of corrosion modelling, materials selection and the establishment of corrosion control programs
  • Responsible for the delivery of materials selection and corrosion prevention/control/monitoring programs and develop and maintenance of facility risk based inspection programs for our operating facilities
  • Ensuring that the onshore and offshore operating facilities achieve their required availability and technical integrity at minimum life cycle cost

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering (Materials, Corrosion disciplines) coupled with considerable experience in a Materials and Corrosion role
  • Upstream Oil & Gas metallurgy experience is highly desirable (although other related sectors will be considered)
  • Knowledge of pressure equipment inspection, welding, coatings, cathodic protection & Risk Based Inspection will be advantageous
