The Role:
This position supports the activities of the Lead Mechanical Static Engineer for a FLNG Engineering Team of a major oil and gas organisation, including Operation and Brownfield Projects. The role is to specifically provide mechanical static engineering support for the facility. This will be a Perth based position working directly for the operator as an agency contractor. Some visits to the facility may be required during the contract.

Engineering Accountability:

  • Provide mechanical engineering advice including fitness for service assessments, mechanical calculations, trouble shooting, root cause investigations, Brownfield project supports and change management.
  • Work with Maintenance and Operations to support production and ensure continuous process alignment and improvement.
  • Investigate equipment failures and selection of the required repairs and quality control tests to restore equipment integrity.
  • Provide engineering support to assist with the procurement of spare parts and materials for the facility.
  • Drive the completion of reliability improvement initiatives to increase the reliability of equipment and systems.

Contractor Management:

  • Act as Contract Owner for mechanical maintenance and engineering services contracts.
  • Supervise and maintain accountability for mechanical engineering Third Party Contractors as required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering - Mechanical
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in quality, construction, commissioning, handover and operation of offshore oil and gas facilities
  • Minimum 10 years' experience within the static mechanical discipline, with an engineering contractor and an operator preferably
  • Strong skills in: Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Boilers, Valves, Piping, Coatings, Insulation & Fireproofing
  • Proficient in using some mechanical software packages such as : PV Elite, CaesarII, Abaqus
  • Proficient in extracting and analysing data and insight from databases relating to systems completion, engineering data, handover information and quality records
