The Role:
Office based, with requirement to visit offshore sites regularly

E&I Engineer will be part of a team of discipline engineers with responsibility for ensuring the safe and efficient operations of Instrument and Electrical systems and equipment. The position requires the identification, prioritisation and planning of instrument & electrical system maintenance and reliability improvement activities according to their Safety and Operational criticality. The position will have accountabilities for Instrument and Electrical Engineering discipline issues including, compliance with company's Written Schemes of Examination and Verification, benchmarking performance and developing improvements to enhance equipment reliability using RCA techniques.

The position also requires the Engineer to provide high quality hands-on facilities engineering services on an ad-hoc and continuing basis in order to assist and support the achievement of strategic objectives.

Key responsibility areas:

* Provide responsive technical engineering advice and service to Operational and Functional Teams in an accurate and timely manner.
* Provide insightful and key Asset performance improvement inputs.
* Contribute to the technical development of junior staff.
* Develop and maintain networks and relationships with key peers and colleagues.
* Keep an abreast with up to date knowledge to any new initiatives and developments within specific engineering disciplines.
* Capture any opportunities to new or improved technologies in order to optimise the Operations, increase the reliability and optimise the costs during the full Asset life.
* Supervise and manage contractors, as necessary, to achieve the required work output.
* Perform administrative tasks in an effective and efficient manner and contribute to the achievement of Asset/Resource Team goals and objectives

Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

* Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with the required technical standards, processes and procedures and operating effectively and in compliance with legislation, the Facility Safety Case and Company's standards.
* Ensure assigned Instrument and Electrical Engineering activities are focussed to delivering safe production performance with maximum reliability.
* Ensure costs are controlled and managed in order to achieve business goals by monitoring contracts performance within the group and supporting the building of the OPEX budgets (ABC methodology).
* Provide technical leadership to technician groups as well as foster an effective and efficient team working environment to ensure successful completion of technical activities
* Provide discipline engineering input into multi-discipline Engineering projects
* Provide Instrument and Electrical engineering input into HAZOP and Hazard review processes
* Develop and implement minor plant modifications for off/onshore sites in accordance with MOC procedure
* Actively participate in the Instrument and Electrical Engineering activities to ensure that the production and maintenance systems are integrated and operated effectively in accordance with the Business Plan, and also operate safely and efficiently in accordance with maintenance MSG.
* Capture any opportunities to new or improved technologies suitable for the area of application
* Foster effective teamwork in order to motivate staff and help establish a work environment / climate, work systems and practices that maximise opportunities for staff to perform well, achieve job satisfaction and contribute effectively to the business. This includes ensuring all recruitment, training and performance assessments are in place and being carried out effectively.
* Provide technical input into monthly reliability and maintenance reporting benchmarking equipment and system performance
* Management of assigned contracts and feedback follow up in term of expenditures and works execution.
* Participate in defining group priorities in conjunction with the Maintenance Manager.
* Participate in the Development of the annual budget and forecast for OPEX and CAPEX projects.
* System Custodian for designated systems.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Degree in relevant Engineering Discipline
* Extensive experience in the Oil and Gas industry, including a substantial period of direct engineering support to operational Offshore and Onshore facilities.
* Recent experience working directly for end client / operator
* Strong technical Knowledge and proven design, construction, commissioning and operational experience in the following areas:
o ATEX / DSEAR Electrical and Instrumentation Systems
o DCS / PLC Process Control Systems
o ESD Systems
o Field Instrumentation
o High & Low Voltage Generation Systems (Both Islanded and Embedded systems)
o High & Low Voltage Distribution Systems
o High & Low Voltage Motor Control Centre's
o High Voltage (Static) Variable Speed Drives.
o Switchgear, Synchronous Generators, Induction & Synchronous Motors, Transformers, Lighting, Cables and associated support systems.
o Protection Application (Switchgear, Generators, Motors, Transformers, Cables
