About the role:
The main purpose of the role is to be proactive and lead by example as part of the Douglas team, promoting the company's Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) standards and practices across worksites and throughout all activities. Delivery of HSE advice and the promotion of zero harm through development and utilization of appropriate work practices and procedures. The role will foster a positive HSE culture offshore and stimulate line ownership of HSE to ensure HSE risks are managed according to company's standards.

Key responsibilities cover the following areas and provide:
* Expert support and guidance in all matters related to Health, Safety and Environment.
* Support and guidance in legislative compliance.
* Provide HSE leadership, guidance and oversight for all offshore operational activities.
* Review and revision of HSE procedures and work practices.
* Development and execution of local audit plans.
* Support to regulatory interfaces.
* Leadership and participation in incident investigation and risk management.
* Focal point for Occupational Health.

Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
* HSE and technical support for general queries.
* Participate in workplace activities to raise the quality of HSE input, including workplace risk assessments, incident investigation and risk management.
* Monitor/Audit Management System Guidelines (MSG) and procedural compliance.
* Coordination and delivery of relevant HSE coaching and training.
* Monitor implementation and effectiveness of HSE plans for all assigned facilities.
* Promote a risk-based approach to HSE management.
* Lead initiatives to promote visible and pro-active management commitment and employee involvement in HSE activities.
* Collecting, tracking, storing, analyzing and reporting HSE performance data and identifying improvements.
* Close out actions in a timely manner.
* Monthly Safety meetings and review of statistics.
* Network with peers to utilize best practices and lessons learned.
* Fully comply with the company's Code of Ethics and Law 231 principles.

Main Interfaces (relationships):
INTERNAL:
* Offshore Installation Managers
* HSE Operational Health and Safety Coordinator
* HSE Manager
* Onshore HSE Team, System custodians and other Departments
* Other Site HSE Advisers
* Site personnel

EXTERNAL
* Consultants, agencies, regulatory bodies and professional associations
* Contractors on delivery of services

Education & Professional Qualifications:
* Suitable NEBOSH/IOSH or equivalent qualification.
* Lead auditor in either ISO14001 or OSHAS18001.
* Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS).
* BOSIET/FOET/ Legionella / any other relevant HSE mandatory or regulatory qualification required for Offshore Working.

Required Experience and Technical Competencies:
* Relevant Oil and Gas industry related experience.
* Significant knowledge of UK offshore oil and gas industry and legislation.
* Strong knowledge of the application of safe systems of work in an offshore environment.
* Knowledge of UK HSE permitting processes and relevant documentation.
* Awareness of rescue equipment, rescue techniques and their application.
* Experience in the provision of HSE training to offshore personnel.

Working Conditions:
* Even time rotational position, predominantly offshore.
* May need to work onshore as part of the rotation and/or for project work.
* Able to deploy to other locations, both in the UK and overseas for specified periods.
* Capable of working offshore and in other potentially challenging environments.
