The Role:
Our well renowned energy consultancy client is actively sourcing for a Mechanical Engineer to join their team based in Cumbria. As part of the Energy Business in West Cumbria, you would work with a team of engineers to provide design and engineering support for a variety of projects and for a variety of clients within our clients Mechanical Engineering department. Within the department our client offers full concept to detail design capability across some challenging projects not only in the nuclear industry but also the wider energy sectors such as in renewables, oil and gas and conventional power. From our clients office which includes most major disciplines you will be involved in
Responsibilities:
- Developing innovative, practical solutions across the UK and further afield.
- Work with the groups clients to capture their requirements and liaise on technical on general project aspects.
- Also work with colleagues across the group to develop proposals for new work.
- Deliver engineering design solutions throughout the full design lifecycle from concept through to detail design, including; preparation of 2D drawings, 3D models, hand calculations and finite element analysis.
- Lead teams of engineers on project tasks as required, detail checking the work of others and ensure that projects are delivered to time and quality
Person Spec:
-Motivated and proactive with a willingness to learn and adapt
-Be able to work both independently and as part of a team and possess good interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
-Possess a good understanding of engineering principles, with experience in; delivering solutions to technical problems, engineering design/design analysis, undertaking technical calculations and 2D drawing production for manufacture.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or B. Eng. equivalent
The following would be highly advantageous;
* Chartership with the relevant institution or working towards Chartership.
* Experience in 3D Computer Aided Design
