The Role:
We have an exciting opportunity to be part of a team working on Britain's Nuclear future. As part of the process engineering team, you will be an integral part of the delivery of engineering solutions in the Nuclear New Build market.
You will be responsible for progressing the design of process systems such as fluid treatment, liquid waste collection, gas/steam/condensate/liquid distribution, sites services for a major Nuclear New Build projects.

Main Responsibilities

* Preparation of process design deliverables. To include: system descriptions, control and operating philosophies, design verification reports, DSEAR assessments, nuclear safety and classification reports, P&IDs, PFDs and equipment lists.
* Perform sizing calculations for process systems and components, summarising in sizing reports.
* Demonstration of component/system compliance to the nuclear safety case and overarching nuclear safety functions of the plant.
* Preparation of equipment/package specifications, interfacing with vendors, addressing technical issues, bid evaluation.
* Contribution to inter-disciplinary design reviews (piping, layout, safety, human factors, C&I), justification of engineering changes, management of system interfaces.
* Planning of work in accordance with the project schedule, identify project risk, delegate tasks and activities to junior engineers/technicians.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
* Chartered or near chartered member of the IChemE or IMechE.
* 5+ years of relevant industrial experience - in the absence of power or nuclear industry specific experience, we would require experience of work associated with a highly regulated industry (e.g. Oil and Gas, Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Water).
* Experience of major engineering projects (optioneering studies, concept studies, FEED, EPC).
* Experience in safety evaluation of process systems (HAZID, HAZOP, ALARP).

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Knowledge of the ABWR design / thermal power systems / fluid systems.
* The ability to speak French or Japanese would be an added bonus.
