The Role:
Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Hardware Design Engineer (Control systems panel design) to work in their Transmission & Distribution Department. based in Stone, Staffordshire.

The role will be to join their existing Substation Control team to perform all aspects from design through to installation and commissioning on site.

This position would suit a candidate who has a good grounding in systems engineering, who is keen to work on site and become involved in all aspects of a project & to learn and develop new skills.

Duties:-
* Working under supervision to agreed procedures and standards with configuration and engineering design responsibilities.
* Interpret and verify customer specifications.
* Produce system designs
* Creating/modifying system drawings and Schematics
* Producing all necessary documentation to support the production of the systems

There will also be opportunity for:
Involvement in site surveys and preparation of Health and Safety Documentation
Assisting in Site acceptance testing
Involved in an extensive SCS upgrade programme.

You will be able to communicate effectively with the customer.
Work as part of a team.
Ability to work well under pressure and to deadlines.
Have excellent communication skills.
Be flexible in your methods of working.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience of control systems panel design
Educated to a min. HND level in an Electrical Engineering discipline.
Computer literate with Autocad and Excel experience.
Capable of good customer communications.
Methodical approach to the interpretation of customer requirements.
Hold a current full driving licence (UK or be able to easily convert to full UK)
Must be willing undertake a basic disclosure Scotland check.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Site Installation and Commissioning experience.
Experience of Secondary Substation systems.
Experienced in the Pacis and/or DS Agile Control System
Experience of Control Systems.
A degree level in relevant subject(s).
