The Role:
Will report to the Process Authority.

Selection Criteria
1. Be a Marine Professional (Deck or Engine STCW qualified)
2. Have Offshore experience working in the capacity of a senior officer ( C/O, Master, 2/Eng, Chief Eng.) on Offshore Support Vessels.
3. Familiarity with DP operations and issues
4. Demonstrate good communication skills
5. Familiarity with applicable marine standards, good practice and regulations
6. Knowledge of multiple types of offshore support vessels & operations.
7. Understanding of marine technologies appropriate to marine support in the oil and gas (O&G) industry sector.
8. Managerial and people skills.

Key Job Responsibilities
1. Ongoing continuous improvement and management of the Corporate MSRE process.
2. Provide subject matter expertise and support in contractor & vessels selection process and in the management of marine service providers (typically around ninety vessels per year) supporting offshore assets.
3. Provide subject matter expertise and support to marine operations & marine aspects of facilities design including projects. Identify and select an independent marine representative when needed for specific marine operations.
4. Advise on suitability of ad hoc marine services (hoses, mooring systems, aids to navigation, weather services, etc).
5. Ensure relevant audits of service providers are performed and evaluated - prospective bidders, fitness to begin service, and ongoing follow up on open items.
6. Co-ordinate and manage rig move operations (semi sub & jack up). Review rig move procedures, arrange pre-rig move meetings including risk assessment of operations and source suitable AHVs. Provision of rig move personnel and back up anchor handling equipment.
7. Provide subject matter expertise for marine related emergencies, including testing of contingency plans. Participate in all marine-related II&R investigations. Maintain marine operations manual and procedures. Check and confirm compliance with applicable marine standards and regulations.
8. The candidate shall have suitable upstream marine operations and offshore operations experience - specifically anchor handling, rig moving, offshore support operations. Familiarity with applicable marine standards and regulations. Knowledge of multiple types of offshore support vessels & operations. Understanding of marine technologies appropriate to marine support in the oil and gas (O&G) industry sector. Managerial and people skills.
9. OE certified/knowledge of international & country of operation marine laws and regulation. Knowledge of industry standards such as SOLAS, Classification Rules, IMCA, OCIMF, API, legislation, etc. DP knowledge would be an advantage with particular focus on deepwater drilling & subsea operations. Marine audit and assurance experience.
