The Role:
Leading the Geographical Information Services team, the job holder will ensure support and maintenance of key company geographical databases, automated data workflows, projects and services associated with surface and subsurface spatial data within the offshore energy sector.

Team Leadership:
* Supervise, coordinate and prioritize daily GIS and graphic operational activities.
* Ensure provision of efficient service to all customer groups including geoscience, engineering & survey, environmental teams, and liaise with other support teams locally and globally where required.
* Lead GIS projects, software or databases development, and input to projects within Geoinformation team to technically support spatial data and ETL work scopes.
* Support development of data solutions for projects relating to digital transformation, and act as coordinator between different stakeholders (business users, data scientists, data SMEs) to ensure Geoscience and GIS data components are efficiently delivered and maintainable.
* Promote the GIS discipline to the user community, encouraging the correct and appropriate use of technologies and data.

Technical delivery
* Ensure the support and maintenance of all automated ETL (Extract, transform and Load) workflows / scripts implemented to ensure efficient manipulation and publication of datasets between datastores.
* Maintain databases (reference, interpretation studies), continually update with incoming data, and monitor the availability of new data
* Ensure the production of complex cartographic documents using specifications, procedures & standards
* Propose, deliver and implement appropriate GIS workflows and procedures to improve data management process and data transfer between applications.
* Organise and provide GIS application support and companionship to end users or internal team.
* Develop new use cases for deploying ETL technologies with the purpose of increasing business efficiency. Design new and robust ETL workflows, implement on local and cloud-based infrastructure.
* Maintain up to date and verified documentation in line with annual program.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Degree Qualification in GIS, geomatics or a related technical / engineering / software discipline
* Experience working in the oil and gas industry and the E&P domain, preferably within Geoscience or survey setting.
* Experience in leading a team, managing operational support services and delivering performance through others.
* Demonstrable knowledge and experience of successful data management
* Solid foundation in geospatial programming and automation e.g. Python, Safe FME
* Experience preparing and publishing maps and data for consumption in intranet-based GIS applications
* Key software competencies:
o ESRI ArcGIS Suite including ArcGIS for Desktop and ArcSDE database
o Safe FME
* Proven analytical and communications skills (both written and oral English)
* Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and to tight deadlines
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members
