The Role:
In charge of Methods for all Well operations/activities including Drilling, Completion, Subsea, Workover and Light well intervention operations.
Elaborates, reviews, supports, follows, reports and updates all the Methodology utilised within the DW
department activities and the various interfaces with other disciplines such as Field Operations, Safety Engineering, Information services, Document Control etc.
External communication with various metier FP personnel at HQ in reference to Methods and other related issues, communication with various contractors (Drilling, Services including Subsea Intervention) on methods and SMS interface related issues.


* Update the various referential documents as/when required to comply with new or revised FP Company rules and/or to new operational conditions.
* Monitor all DW operations to ensure compliance with the Total Company rules and TEP UK CMS procedures.
* Monitor, follow, and participate to all methods related DW reporting.
* Participate in the wide variety of Risk Assessments, Hazop and Hazid development and/or other high level risk assessment techniques when required supporting well operations activities/specific projects, derogations, procedure changes and Simops issues.
* In charge of preparing and updating the Bridging (interface) documents. Preparation of same includes significant review of the HSE SMS and supporting documentation of the particular contractor, liaison with Environmental, Operational safety and safety engineering disciplines with TEP UK to clearly address all major issues and to ensure no areas of conflict/concern.
* Preparation of SIMOPS safety reviews. Participate to development of SIMOPS documents/procedures incl. direct communication with FP HQ, DW Project teams and Project leaders
* Assist in preparing and updating the Technical Blow out Contingency Plans (BOCPs) for all project teams.
* Participation in Emergency exercises, to ensure applicable lessons are captured & DW procedures updated.
* Liaison, assistance and support to SE/ENV, SE/OPS and SE/ENG on various DW well operations activities.
* Implementation of adhoc DW action plans (E.g. Post Macondo Actions etc)
* Preparation of new or special and update of existing general DW department "Methods" procedures i.e. MoC procedure, BOCP, Well Life Cycle, etc.
* Keep up to date with technological innovations from Group & Industry, so as to promote better efficiency in operations. Question established/existing practices, propose alternatives so as to assist in achieving improvements in well operations.
* Participate to improving the skills and know-how of junior DW staff by ensuring the cascade of information and knowledge from past Total well operations and from experience.
* Familiar with the Regulatory Bodies i.e. regulations - DCR, Safety Case, Puwer, PFEER & Riddor
* Familiar with UK OIL&GAS recommendations

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Previous experience as a Drilling or Well Intervention Engineer / Superintendent with an operational background and practical knowledge of the following:
* - Well construction techniques and equipment, offshore drilling Rigs, UK Well Operations and safety regulations, SIMOPS / COMOPS, well and environmental safety, emergency procedures/preparedness and well control including knowledge of advanced well control techniques.
* A minimum of 10 years professional experience in Drilling and /or Well Intervention operations is preferred.
