The Role:
The focal point for all lifting related activities regardless of division, to support the Regional team to provide safe, repeatable, in-control and efficient lifting operations at all levels.
Facilitates and drives continual improvement to deliver safe, efficient and pragmatic lifting solutions in partnership with the Regional team to systematically manage risk and realise opportunities.
Identifies lifting risk and intervenes, escalates potential issues before they impact safety or business performance
Leads the integration of Regional Lifting procedure requirements in Regional teams work processes.
Shares learnings, best practices to promote and deliver common ways of working across the Regional facilities.
Provides technical support and promotes simplification and common work processes where applicable.
Provides focal point, working with Regional teams in assessing and managing risk, compliance, learning and conducting verification.

- Strategy & Planning
- Manages Regional lifting self-verification systems and facilitates above-Region verification and assurance reviews.
- Leads Integration of lifting requirements into Regional teams work processes and systems.
- Promotes, communicates and supports application of agreed lifting strategy, tools and systems in Region.
- Promotes and delivers common work processes across all Regional facilities
- Identifies and delivers efficiency gain through working in partnership with above-Region and in-Region teams through simplification and removal of complexity where applicable, without compromising safety, risk management and compliance.
- Identifies lifting risk and intervenes, escalates potential issues before they impact safety or business performance
- People Management
- Performs or verifies assessment and maintains competency database of Regional personnel and contractors.
- Participates in above-Region lifting community of practice and establishes as system to effectively communicate information, lessons learnt to all regional sites to promote successes, share challenges faced and prevent the reoccurrence of incidents.
- Setting Standards, Policies and Processes
- Develops and manages Regional lifting procedures, systems and tools and manages conformance to OMS lifting requirements, works in partnership with above-Region team to leverage global solutions where practical and efficient. Benchmarks and monitor Regional facility performance through self-verification, conformance and action closure.
- Provides deep technical support to all Regional teams and departments.
- Performance Management
- Facilitates Regional lifting performance management and performance improvement cycle, provides direction, cause corrective action and drives continual improvement.
- Collates and analyses equipment reliability and contractor performance management data in-Region, verifies readiness of contractor owned equipment and establishes technical requirements for the purchase of new equipment.
- Execution
- Establishes a system to provide safe execution of all lifting operations in conformance with local legislation, verifies that lifts are adequately planned, documented and risk assessed.
- Performs the endorsement of Cat 3 lifting plans, facilitates above-Region peer reviews and witnesses most major operations.
- Performs the endorsement of lifting equipment maintenance regimes and ensures a system is established to verify integrity of all lifting equipment and accessories (maintenance, inspection, certification and pre use inspections.)
- Participates in lifting or dropped object incident investigations
- Performs in region facility self-verification reviews, agrees actions to cause corrective action and risk mitigation
- Capture, coordinate, disseminate and track shared learning for lifting and dropped objects incidents in-Region.

* Must be legally authorized to work in the UK on a full-time basis
* Must of successfully passed Level 4 technical competency assessment
* ONC or equivalent qualification in Engineer or Science
* Holds demonstrable industry experience in the planning, engineering and management of diverse/complex Lifting operations.
* Excellent working knowledge of lifting national and international legislation, standards and best practices.
* Strong working knowledge of testing, inspection and maintenance requirements of lifting equipment.
