The Role:
The North Sea and Middle East OTS (Operations Training Simulator) Trainer will be hosted in the Petro-technical Academy (PTA) team, reporting to the Engineering Learning Director and the central OTS Programme Manager. The main purpose of this position is to administer the simulator training to North Sea and Middle East Control Room Technician (CRTs) personnel in Aberdeen. Help maximize safety/optimization/reliability of production systems.

Key tasks:
1. Administers the simulator training to North Sea and Middle East CRT personnel. And other assets/Regions if required.
2. Assist in the development in the North Sea and Middle East training plans and curriculum.
3. Helps determine and manage semi-annual refresher training topics in conjunction with the Region Learning Manager and OTS Programme Manager.
4. Responsible for getting all current CRTs through the training and assessment process.
5. Assist with simulator updates and additions, including checkout, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) - ensuring that they match the assets to sufficient quality.

A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience you are looking for
1. Strong Control Room Technician (CRT) experience and/or asset Engineering experience.
2. Experience in oil & gas, refining or petrochemical industries.
3. Demonstrated Leadership skills.
4. Strong health, safety, environmental and regulatory compliance record.
5. Demonstrated technical expertise in multiple disciplines such as operations and engineering.
6. The ability to effectively manage priorities while working with various cross-organisation teams and groups.
7. Experienced in all aspects of oil and gas operations, including separation, compression, treatment, integrated control & safety systems and export pipeline systems.
8. Experienced in simultaneous operations involving production, well maintenance, and construction activities.
9. Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to influence others.

1. Demonstrated leadership skills and technical expertise in multiple disciplines.
2. Advanced working knowledge of pumps, compressors, dehydration systems, separation systems, control systems, chemical and corrosion mitigation systems, fire-fighting systems, BOSIET, BOEMR and USCG type regulations (or equivalent). Plus potentially cranes.
3. Ability to travel and work needed rotational assignment of 14 days on and 14 days off as and when deemed necessary for role.

Preferable skills/experience
1. Technical degree or equivalent operational experience.
2. Competency Management Assurance System assessor & verifier.
3. Learning Subject Matter Expert (SME).
