The Role:
The Company has a current vacancy for an early career Mechanical Engineer to work at our Teesside Operations.
Reporting to the Rotating & Mechanical Engineering Team Leader, the candidate will be responsible for project management and engineering support of capital and modifications projects.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Liaise with OEMs and third-party vendors to support the maintenance of the mechanical and rotating elements of the Teesside Terminal;
* Lead maintenance activities as Task Owner for execution of work on site by third party contractors;
* Development of Statements of Requirements and scopes of work for small modification projects at Teesside terminal;
* Support the execution of modification projects and provide technical guidance;
* Provide cover for vacation and extended absence for Mechanical and Rotating Field Engineers;
* Support execution of maintenance turnarounds from projects group with technical input & guidance;
* Represent ConocoPhillips Mechanical & Rotating team and safely deliver the outlined work on-time and to the prescribed level of quality;
* Assist Engineering Mechanical & Rotating Team Lead and Mechanical TA in driving continuous improvement and defect elimination in all aspects of the Engineering Department;
* Encouraging teamwork within the departments / sections including the contractor work force;
* Determine the principles of continuous improvement Encouraging teamwork within the departments / sections including the contractor work force;
* Awareness of site strategy and goals, and how they fit with their role;
* Comply with site responsibility for legislative and operational regulatory compliance and ensure that requirements of the COMAH are implemented at Teesside Operations site;

The Company:
Our client a UK based refining and marketing company, have interests in a number of facilities in the United Kingdom, employing around 1000 people throughout the UK and over 33000 worldwide. They have had their presence on Teesside for over 30 years, processing and storing crude oil ready for shipment along with being an established supplier of bulk fuels, including LPG, to the commercial, aviation and marine industries.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Degree Qualified in Mechanical Engineering - Essential
* Demonstrate effective inter-personal skills and competence - Essential
* Ability to communicate at all levels in the organisation - Essential
* Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartered Status - Essential
* Ability to use Microsoft packages and SAP - Essential
* Holds Full UK driving license - Preferred
* Sound Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering principles, with the ability to resolve problems - Preferred
* Demonstrable knowledge of the relevant applicable standards - Preferred
* Interpersonal skills to interact with personnel at all levels in the organisation - Preferred
