The Role:
The company has a current vacancy for an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to work at our Teesside Operations.
Reporting to the Programmes & Shutdowns Team Leader working within the shutdowns team, the candidate will be responsible for the development and on-time execution of multi-discipline projects (predominantly Mechanical biased), to be executed during various shutdown events over forthcoming years.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Provide overall Project Management and liaise as necessary with the shutdown team to ensure all project requirements are understand and fully integrated into the shutdown worklist and schedule
* Develop initial technical specifications to facilitating scoping
* Delivery of front end and detailed design packages
* Actively participate in safety, design, constructability, and schedule reviews
* Prepare scope of works and participate in bid analysis
* Development of cost estimates and programmes, incorporating vendor estimates and schedules
* Project managing and controlling any modifications / changes through the management of change process, in compliance with site standards and current legislation
* Analyse problems and provide technical input to support the development and execution of multi-discipline projects with a technical expertise towards mechanical (piping, rotating equipment, static vessels plus fire equipment) discipline
* Responsible for effective delivery of project activities with proactive cost control, schedule attainment & forecasting
* Actively contribute to risk reviews and risk assessments and manage output
* Attend FAT's and provide quality assurance for construction activities
* Actively monitor and expedite project materials and ensure ITP's are followed and goods conform to the quality plan
* Address any technical queries raised by the shutdown team
* Timely close out of project files and associated project MoC's.
Competency Requirements
▪ Degree educated in relevant Engineering Discipline (preferably chartered status)
▪ Strong project engineering and technical background in Mechanical and Piping disciplines
▪ Demonstrable experience of managing and delivering small to medium scaled multi-disciplined projects
▪ Demonstrable experience of working within a shutdown or overhaul delivery environment
▪ Extensive Engineering & Maintenance experience Oil & Gas, Petro-Chemical or other regulated industry
▪ Demonstrable understanding of other engineering disciplines such as Instrument, Electrical, Civil, & Asset Integrity
▪ Familiarity with relevant legislative requirements, CDM, Temporary Works, ATEX, Electricity at Work Regs et

They have had their presence on Teesside for over 30 years, processing and storing crude oil ready for shipment along with being an established supplier of bulk fuels, including LPG, to the commercial, aviation and marine industries.
