The Role:
The company has a current vacancy for an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to work at our Teesside Operations.
Reporting to the Programmes & Shutdowns Team Leader working within a small team of engineering professionals, the candidate will be responsible for the development and on-time execution of multi-discipline projects (predominantly Mechanical biased), from definition through to front-end engineering, HAZOP, Detailed Design, Construction and Commissioning.

Key Responsibilities include:
* Develop initial technical specifications;
* Actively participate in safety and design and construction reviews;
* Prepare scope of works and participate in bid analysis;
* Development of cost estimates and programmes, incorporating vendor estimates and schedules;
* Provide overall Project Management and liaise as necessary with those affected by the project as required;
* Project managing and controlling any modifications / changes through the management of change process, in compliance with site standards and current legislation;
* Analyse problems and provide technical input to support the development and execution of multi-discipline projects with a technical expertise towards mechanical (piping, rotating equipment, static vessels plus fire equipment) discipline;
* Responsible for Project cost control, schedule attainment, forecasting and ensuring that the work is effectively delivered;
* Contribute to risks reviews and risk assessments;
* Attend FAT's and provide quality assurance for construction activities;
* Initiate and monitor site construction activities.

Our client a UK based refining and marketing company, have interests in a number of facilities in the United Kingdom, employing around 1000 people throughout the UK and over 33000 worldwide. They have had their presence on Teesside for over 30 years, processing and storing crude oil ready for shipment along with being an established supplier of bulk fuels, including LPG, to the commercial, aviation and marine industries.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
▪ Degree educated in relevant Engineering Discipline (preferably chartered status);
▪ Strong project engineering and technical background in Mechanical and Piping disciplines;
▪ Demonstrable experience of managing and delivering small to medium scaled multidisciplined projects;
▪ Extensive Engineering & Maintenance experience Oil & Gas, Petro-Chemical or other regulated industry;
▪ Understanding of other engineering disciplines such as Instrument, Civil, Asset Integrity and Rotating;
▪ Familiarity with relevant legislative requirements, CDM, ATEX, COMAH etc;
▪ Experience in Front End specification and design (FEL process).
