The Role:
Supervise a team of mechanical technicians carrying out preventative, corrective maintenance and project work (includes Overhauls) on mechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the Mechanical Maintenance function
a. Supervise both COP and Contractor Mechanical Technicians
b. Responsible for the maintenance of the mechanical equipment
c. Ensure maintenance activities are adequately communicated to the relevant technicians and the appropriate level of risk assessment is completed and control measures implemented
d. Ensure compliance with the site ISSOW system, e.g. timely submission of part A Permit to Work requests with associated risk assessments.
e. Complete repairs and maintenance activities to the site specifications and maintenance instructions
f. Diagnose physical cause of mechanical equipment breakdown / failure and propose / complete repairs to the site standards and engage technical resources as needed to support operations
g. Provide, monitor & drive improvements against appropriate KPI's
h. Seek Operations input to ensure rotating equipment maintenance activities have minimal impact on process/operational plans.
i. Work with the maintenance planners ensure maintenance plans are prepared to maximise productivity (labour and materials) to ensure cost effective execution of work.
j. Ensure mechanical equipment preventative maintenance instruction are completed, checked and maintenance records are stored in the SAP system and other systems are necessary
k. Ensure machine overhaul / repair works are documented and maintenance records are stored in the SAP system and other systems are necessary
l. Assist in the planning and execution of shutdowns and major outages/turnarounds
m. Respond to any out of hours call out as part of the COP Supervisors callout rota
n. Work with the Maintenance Planners to prepare effective and efficient maintenance plans including job stepping of tasks, specification, sourcing and checking of plant spares. Detailed planning can be delegated to the craft team, as part of fall back work
o. Creation of Task Risk Assessment Checklist (TRAC)

Competency Requirements
a. Minimum ONC or NVQ 3 in relevant discipline - Essential
b. Extensive experience in a maintenance role within the oil and gas industry - Desirable
c. Supervisor experience - Essential
d. Experience in the completion of Risk Assessment and ISSoW - Desirable
e. Knowledge of DSEAR and ATEX legislation - Essential
f. Hold a Full UK driving licence and to drive company vehicles where appropriate - Essential
g. Demonstrate effective interpersonal, leadership skills and supervisory competence -Desirable
h. Ability to use Microsoft packages and SAP - Essential
i. Appropriate Physical and Mental Capability to undertake the role - Essential

They have had their presence on Teesside for over 30 years, processing and storing crude oil ready for shipment along with being an established supplier of bulk fuels, including LPG, to the commercial, aviation and marine industries.
