The Role:

Main Goals & Objectives:

Creation of new colours, materials, surface finishes & trims
Carry C&T concepts through proposal, approval, development & delivery
Maintain project timing with cross-functional & departmental buy-in
To create and to lead the generation design solutions for new products in an efficient and effective manner, supporting the department's and the Company's requirements.

Main responsibilities:

Provide expertise & resource within C&T
Must demonstrate a good up to date knowledge of competitor design direction and state-of-the-art technologies for his/her area of expertise.
Ability to solve complex problems and provide creative solutions.
Ability to influence colleagues within area of responsibility
Understanding of financial limits, feasibility and production methodology within area of responsibility
Able to work effectively in a cross functional team, includes contacts to the Engineering and other functional departments, as well as relevant outside companies during the concept and/or realisation phase, including Group colleagues.
Works closely with Technical Managers & Technical Specialists as appropriate.

Practical & Technical knowledge:

Excellent colour vision, colour harmony and an intuitive understanding of perceived value and craftsmanship
Ability to understand design and tastes from a number of very different global perspectives
Solid understanding of materials, material research techniques and a wide variety of manufacturing techniques
Proficient at visualising using eg Photoshop, Illustrator etc and available resources
Project management skills and the ability to enable self and others to meet required deadlines
Excellent interpersonal and team development skills

Qualifications:

Appropriate Design Degree or Master.
Proven experience working as a designer with evidence of Design production or conceptual projects that have been undertaken and/or managed.
