The Role:
Responsible for the design of Cabin systems (Headliners, Boot, and Pillars etc) for a new car development with the client. Operating within the Interior Engineering department reporting to the Cabin trim Team Manager. Using Catia V5 and Bentley systems, the candidate should have experience of Multiple facets of interior design and must be capable of designing fully tooling feasible parts, solving design and package issues both independently and as part of a team. Design experience from Concept to Production design is essential.

Scope of Work:
1. Excellent Catia V5 Design skills

2. Ability to take an analytical and systematic approach to create optimal solutions to problems.

3. Ability to work within a team.

4. Capable of defining concepts and solutions to support 'A' surface requirements or making well thought out proposals to amend 'A' surface's where necessary.

5. Responsible for developing and maintaining and releasing 3D Cad models within Bentley Systems

6. Ability to work seamlessly with off site design houses for CAD delivery

7. Excellent time management and self-organisational skills.

8. Ensure tolerance analysis for all designs/ geometry is executed and specifications fully defined including group Reference Point System.

9. Responsible at all times to follow and deliver the requirements of the company systems as defined by company Quality standards and procedures.

10. Ability to interrogate design such that it can be optimised to weight and cost targets.

11. Occasional overseas travel may be required in support of project working and delivery.

Dimensions & Limits of Authority:
* Operates within an agreed vehicle feature/sub-system budget and timescale.
* Accountable for identifying and escalating issues and risks to Senior Engineer / Manager.
* Responsibility to ensure factual and effective communication within all cross-function work teams.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualifications:
* HNC qualified or equivalent and/or able to demonstrate the appropriate level of experience.
* Preference to have degree in Engineering.
* Trained in CATIA V5 to automotive industry standards.

Experience:

* Appropriate experience working as a CAD Designer within Automotive industry with extensive experience on Cabin systems and varied experience of multiple interior components Tooling.
