The Role:
Responsible for the design of Interior Trim components. Operating within the Interior Engineering department reporting to one of the Functional Managers. Using Catia V5 and client systems, the candidate should have experience of designing a large range of components and assemblies, ideally within the automotive sector. They must be capable of designing fully tooling feasible parts, solving design and package issues both independently and as part of a team. Design experience from Concept to Production design is essential.

1. Excellent Catia V5 Design skills
2. Ability to take an analytical and systematic approach to create optimal solutions to problems.
3. Ability to work within a team.
4. Capable of defining concepts and solutions to support 'A' surface requirements or making well thought out proposals to amend 'A' surface's where necessary.
5. Responsible for developing and maintaining and releasing 3D Cad models within client Systems
6. Ability to work seamlessly with off site design houses for CAD delivery
7. Excellent time management and self-organisational skills.
8. Ensure tolerance analysis for all designs/ geometry is executed and specifications fully defined including group Reference Point System.
9. Responsible at all times to follow and deliver the requirements of the company systems as defined by company Quality standards and procedures.
10. Ability to interrogate design such that it can be optimised to weight and cost targets.
11. Occasional overseas travel may be required in support of project working and delivery.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Appropriate experience working as a CAD Designer within Automotive industry with extensive experience on Interior Trim and high degree of Injection Mould Tooling knowledge.

HNC qualified or equivalent and/or able to demonstrate the appropriate level of experience.
Preference to have degree in Engineering.
Trained in CATIA V5 to automotive industry standards.
