The Role:
To establish target piece-part and investment prices for existing and new vehicle programmes, validate supplier quoted prices and price increase claims, develop negotiations as required, identify cost reduction opportunities and promote "Best Value" engineering practice both within the client and supply base.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Strong Product Cost Management, Estimating and Process Planning experience within the Automotive industry.
* Purchasing, Procurement and knowledge of Automotive Cost Estimating/ Engineering practices are highly desirable including Kaizen, Poke-Yoke, Kanban, Value Analysis/ Value Engineering and, of course Cost Modelling techniques
* "whole vehicle" component & system manufacturing process/ materials knowledge, Cost estimating, value engineering and cost control experience
* Knowledge of cost accounting practice , Excellent "face to face" negotiation/ influencing skills, Practical knowledge and experience in lean manufacturing techniques
* Practical Industrial Engineering skills (i.e. work measurement, method study, process engineering), PC literate especially Excel, Word & PowerPoint, Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Able to travel (UK & Overseas)
