The Role

To ensure the timely and accurate delivery of Whole Vehicle Guided Service Diagnostic Information for electrical components & control modules to all worldwide markets (supporting approximately 180 dealers) in line with new and Model Year product/project launch timing. Role holder must produce concise Guided Service Diagnostic Technical Information for Electrical Vehicle Systems to enable dealer technicians to maintain and repair products in a timely and accurate manner. To ensure this information is correct at the time of publication and updated in line with all relevant changes to the specification of the product. To deliver this information within the Product timing Plan.the timely and accurate delivery of Whole Vehicle Electrical Systems Workshop Information for electrical components & control modules to all worldwide markets (supporting approximately 220 Retailers).

Main Responsibilities

1. Responsible for the delivery and accuracy of Whole Vehicle Guided Service Diagnostic Information at New product or Model Year launches utilising Engineering design and Bill Of Material information. Responsible for ensuring client meets annual group requirements in terms of quality.
2. Responsible for the delivery and technical implementation of vehicle software updates in the field driven directly by Customer requests or field quality concerns through the QMM process.
3. Responsible for answering technical queries from dealer network (2nd level support) within the agreed timeframe for all product lines.
4. May need to deputise for the Dealer Diagnostics & Electrical Systems Manager as an interface with Group organisations and/or internal depts. relative to Whole Vehicle Guided Service Diagnostic Information.
5. Supporting the delivery of dealer and customer satisfaction targets in line with company and Group targets. Ensuring customer mobility and technical support for Vehicle Electrical Systems.

Specific Information

Documentation - Dealer Technical Information

1. Creation: Using experience, an analytical approach and physical validation on product to create detailed Workshop Guided Service Diagnostics Information to service and support the client product during its service lifecycle.
2. Maintenance: Using detailed information from standard business systems implement changes to support new part/system changes for existing product.
3. All documentation to be Technically Checked in line with business process and task instructions to ensure data is of the highest quality containing the correct technical approach and warnings.of quality. Responsible for the development and maintenance of Aftersales Whole Vehicle Guided Service Diagnostic Information in-line with group process and standards in multiple languages.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

* Experience of several management disciplines including: -
- Project management experience and a track record of project delivery
- Communication and influencing skills across all business levels

PRACTICAL & TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge of Automotive industry and dealer practices.
Knowledge/experience of Automotive Electrical Systems functionality
Knowledge/experience of Automotive Electronics, Software, Vehicle Architecture and Communications Protocols
Knowledge/experience of symptoms based diagnostics methods for electrical control modules
Knowledge/experience of working in Automotive Company functions - eg Engineering, Project Management

QUALIFICATIONS

Educated to HND / Degree level in a Technical discipline or equivalent relevant Industry experience
Preferably working towards Chartered Engineer status
Ability to communicate and influence
Self-motivation
