The Role:
Main Purpose of the Role

As part of an Emissions test team the Emissions Technician is responsible for the preparation of vehicles for emissions testing and performing of Emissions test to agreed standards. Analysis of test results to ensure quality of measurements taken. Performing Calibrations, chassis dynamometer coast downs, Maintenance & Service and record keeping of all associated test equipment. Monitoring consumable stock levels e.g. gasses and fuels. Monitoring health and quality of test equipment through tracking of correlation car data and analyzer linearisation coefficients.

Scope of the Role

- Preparing Vehicles for emissions testing.
- Performing emissions tests.
- Analysis and validation of test results to ensure quality.
- Maintain records of test results.
- Performing calibration and maintenance of test equipment.
- Record and track calibration parameters from test equipment.
- Active participation in improvements to working practices.
- Support reasonable requests for overseas and offsite travel, unless agreed exemption.

Qualifications

- Recognised apprenticeship, qualification in City & Guilds automotive/mechanical/electrical engineering or ONC / HNC or relevant practical experience.
- Completion of Powertrain test centre technician assessment.
- PC skills, knowledge of Excel, Word essential.
- Valid driving licence and approval to drive company products.
