Engine Test Technician

The Role:
To perform and support all Powertrain test activities as required by the company Powertrain development programs. Work with other members of the Powertrain Test team and Engineers from the Powertrain Engineering department to set-up, perform and report results from Engine and Powertrain tests.


1. Test Set-up

Liaise with Test Engineers and department customers to understand testing requirements. Use knowledge and experience to help to identify equipment requirements and set-up test equipment to meet requirements of test and company Quality Management System.

2. Test Operation
Perform Powertrain tests in line with identified requirements to meet agreed timings and quality. Work proactively to resolve any issues effecting delivery of tests.

3. Results Reporting
Assist Test Engineer in the processing and presentation of test results / data to meet requirements of the company Quality Management System.

4. Team Working
Work with other members of the Powertrain Test department to share and document knowledge and best practice.

5. Maintenance
Perform equipment maintenance tasks as required to ensure quality and reliability of all test equipment and compliance with TS16949 and other relevant quality standards

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Experience of working within a Engineering Powertrain development facility
Ability to work within the team on own initiative and liaise with all levels of management.
Ability to work within a technical environment and communicate effectively with all members of the team.


Detailed working knowledge of:-

* Froude Texcel V12 or Horiba PCVets
* Microsoft Office software including Word, PowerPoint, Excel.


Completion of a relevant apprenticeship or equivalent level of academic qualification and with demonstrable relevant experience.
