The Role:
This position supports the Senior Finance Manager by ensuring financial focus within product programmes and ultimately influencing long-term company profitability, via reporting of project financial status and business decision support.
The role has autonomy in some areas of control, reporting and process improvement.

Main Responsibilities:
1. Consolidation, review and communication of Project financial information
- Prepare financial reports, analysis and presentations for Brand and Group, in line with Group formats.
- Maintain and communicate project expenditure decision register, review with functions to understand current risks and opportunities, co-ordination of movements in contingency and funds release requests within Board level papers.
- Support the Senior Finance Manager with Planning Round and Budget expenditure inputs, using appreciation of approved, forecast and actual expenditure.
- Co-ordinate Planning Round inputs from functions into the project status.
- Intercompany expenditure analysis.

2. Business Decision Making Support
- Evaluation of business cases for product feature content, working cross-functionally to agree variables. Acknowledgement of possible funding routes and presentation of the business case financials in various forums.
- Perform sensitivity analysis for all variables in the business case.
- Preparation and maintenance of market margin analysis within the business model, including market/derivative revenue and cost deltas consistent with latest product offerings.

3. Control and Analysis of Launch & AEKO expenditure
- Responsibility for launch target setting by functional area by reference to Group rules and predecessor analysis, tailoring to specific project variables.
- Ensure effective reporting of expenditures including risks and opps against latest forecasts.
- Challenge expenditure and provide financial information to support decision making.

4. PEP Target Setting Process
- Assist the Senior Finance Manager in setting of appropriate targets, including predecessor analysis, and participation in reviews with functions in context of Product Line targets.
- Plan for forthcoming project gateways and preparation of appropriate finance deliverables.

5. Intercompany Analysis
- Analysis of allocation costs and transfer prices, liaison with Group contacts and supporting meetings as required.
- Assist Module leaders with understanding the likely cost of proposed changes to allow approval of costs where required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Skills
Ability to work on own initiative and deputise for senior finance manager when required.
Good communication and presentation skills along with an ability to guide and influence others at all levels by giving reasoned arguments supported by appropriate financial data.
Prioritisation of workload in order to meet short and longer-term objectives
Relationship building, both inside Finance and cross functionally. Building a network of contacts around the business.
Ability to train others, including finance analysts, apprentices and graduates, in both the relevant systems and the project & business environment.
Good technical and business awareness to allow a rounded approach to analysis and ensure adequate consideration of the impact of decisions on other areas of the business.

Experience
Experience of a manufacturing or engineering environment beneficial, but not essential.
Analysis of financial data, including variance and sensitivity analysis
