The Role:
Main goals & Objectives:
As a key member of the Financial Planning team, this role has responsibility for leading the financial evaluation & analysis of the Bentley Corporate Planning Functions study portfolio. As a true business partner to the team, it is expected that the role will feed ideas and initiatives into the business planning process, as well as providing financial governance & evaluation throughout the process, based on a detailed understanding of the Bentley Motors current financial position and latest Planning Round input.
Working with key partners at all levels in the business, including the Board & Group, this role is vital to ensure the long term financial strategy of the business is robust and optimised.

Main responsibilities:
- Key financial Business Partner to the new Corporate Planning Function, responsible for leading the financial evaluation & analysis of strategic initiatives devised by this core team, with the output feeding into the Strategic Planning Process
- Initially instrumental in the development & deployment of the new Business Planning Process, ensuring a wider understanding and buy in to the process from the key customers within the Finance function as well as the wider business.
- Responsible for devising strategic options within the study portfolio & ensuring accurate Financial analysis throughout the process. Supporting the Head of Financial Planning in the presentation to & discussions with the Board the financial implications of these strategic options, prior to their approval and adoption, as well as ensuring alignment with Group & Brand Group through the process.
- Co-ordination of wider Finance function involvement, to ensure further, more detailed evaluation of the chosen initiatives is completed accurately and aligned with the relevant Finance function. Develop effective relationships with Group colleagues to ensure robust investment, product & technology cost inputs into study portfolios.
- Accountable for ensuring that the agreed strategic decisions & assumptions from the study portfolio are accurately fed into the annual Planning Round / Budget processes, ensuring clear planning premises can be agreed and cascaded throughout the Finance function as well as the wider business.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Skills & Experience:
- Finance professional with post qualification experience
- Experience of developing business strategies & evaluating strategic options
- Business & financial modelling skills & knowledge, at both high & detailed levels
- Automotive experience preferable but not essential
- Proven track record of operating & influencing at all levels, including Board level

Practical & Technical Knowledge:
- Core financial acumen with thorough understanding of the workings of P&L and Balance Sheet, to ensure sound financial guidance can be provided to core business partners
- Outstanding numeracy required. Proficiency in scenario planning tools desired.
- Ability to communicate key financial topics to a wide audience without a finance background
- Up to date knowledge of external audit & internal compliance requirements
