The Role:
The Fleet Engineer is responsible for the organisation, control, update and optimising the utilisation of Electrical Engineering development vehicles in line with programme requirements, enabling the Electrical team to engineer, deliver and sign off all features in accordance with key milestones.

Scope of the Role:
1. Engineering Projects Support
a) Procure up to date project plans from local teams and produce vehicle usage plans in line with all programme milestones.
b) Determine vehicle specification requirements and liaise with appropriate vehicle providers to facilitate and ensure vehicle availability in line with project requirements.
c) Facilitate internal vehicle usage meetings.
d) Support cross-functional vehicle usage meetings as required, both internal and external to department.
e) Co-ordinate and support both on site and off site vehicle activities as necessary

2. Co-ordination of Vehicle Concerns and Update Requirements
a) Co-ordinate resolutions to project vehicle concerns.
b) Determine update requirements to ensure the vehicles are of a suitable integration level for the development and engineering work being undertaken.
c) Facilitate the successful planning and management of non BIL synchronization point vehicle updates.
d) Co-ordinate vehicle handover process between department and relevant functional representatives.

3. Acquisition and Disposal of Vehicles
a) Co-ordinate high level vehicle planning in line with usage requirements.
b) Co-ordinate new vehicle acquisition, including temporary vehicle requests.
c) Manage these vehicle requests through the appropriate forums and ensure records are accurate and up to date.
d) Support the de-fleet process by handing back vehicles to relevant owner or agreed user, in line with prior vehicle usage and planning agreements

4. Planning and Reporting
a) Produce regular vehicle usage report, recognizing all planned / revised and actual vehicle usage requirements are monitored and maximized.
b) Organize effective distribution and collection of documentation in line with vehicle usage requirements, ensuring adherence to latest policies / guidelines.
c) Co-ordinate vehicle servicing requirements with vehicle owner, ensure quality levels are maintained, monitor and ensure adherence to company (Fleet) and legal requirements such as MOT, warranty history and road fund license records.
d) Comply with Engineering "best practice" processes and ensure TS16949 Compliance.
e) Co-ordinate logbook process in line with central fleet processes.
f) Co-ordinate activities with the vehicle users to ensure security regulations are maintained during the testing of project sensitive vehicles.
g) Manage vehicle transport requests and breakdown assists.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Skills and Experience:
 Experience and a track record in delivery of solutions
 A working knowledge of Engineering and Manufacturing processes
 Computer literate in Microsoft Office
 Demonstrable administrative experience, ability to work independently and proactively
 Demonstrable experience of communicating effectively at all levels
 Self-motivated and flexible with good attention to detail
 Ability to analyse complex data preferred
 Project management knowledge beneficial but not essential
 German speaking preferred but not essential

* Full, clean UK driving licence
* Degree preferable but not essential
