The Role:
To work with the Feature Owner of the instrument cluster and to assist delivery of the instrument cluster to the agreed performance and quality at the correct time and to the agreed cost.
Role objectives are:
* To understand the functionality, warnings, illumination and display strategy for the instrument cluster and to create test cases and perform this testing & validation.
* To understand the Instrument cluster test tool and check the texts in the display and validate and report issues to the supplier.
* To support and be able to investigate problems & bugs, reporting, feedback to the supplier, tracking and bug fix validation.
* To re-flash instrument cluster software as and when required.
* To report instrument cluster test status, timing and functionality issues to other departments at Bentley as required.
* To liaise and deal effectively with internal customers in Bentley as and when required, e.g. Purchase, Finance, Styling, Quality, Logistics, Production and Manufacturing etc. To also deal effectively with suppliers.

Main Responsibilities:
1. Work alongside the BY736 Feature Owner, and also independently, to assist with testing the instrument cluster. This will involve using CAN simulations on the bench to generate warning cases. It will also involve working on vehicle test rigs and actual vehicles to obtain CAN (and possibly MOST) traces for further analysis.
2. Understanding instrument cluster functionality, producing test requirements and performing those tests necessary to ensure the part functions correctly. Reporting errors and bugs to the supplier and validating fixes. Liaising with VW group colleagues if appropriate to get information.
3. Reporting the status and functionality of the instrument cluster to other parts of the business. This may be by producing reports, presentations or charts.
4. Work with other instrument cluster feature owners or members of the Infotainment team to support integrated testing. E.g. instrument cluster to main unit tests and inst. cluster to head-up display testing
5. Support and carry-out the re-flash of instrument clusters to update instrument cluster software as, where and when necessary.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience in a similar role would be an advantage.
Knowledge of German language would be an advantage.
Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project & Outlook
Familiarity with CAN vehicle networks and ability to log files and perform analysis.
Experience with Diagnostic testing is preferred.
