The Role:
The Labcar Support Technician will be part of the Electrical Integration Centre team and will be required to form a good working relationship with the software and hardware teams with the dept.
This role will involve working on Pre-Series (inclusive of Simulators and Prototypes) as well as Series Production vehicles. Therefore, the Labcar Support Technician will be required to ensure the sensitivity of the work is understood and that any vehicle work and movement is performed in line with business security practices.
The Labcar Support Technician will provide a flexible, responsive and professional service to Engineering, Whole Vehicle, Manufacturing, Quality, Group Customers and various other Business Functions. The support expected will be in build, diagnosis, analysis, rectification and the update of Electrical & Electronic systems in readiness for G.I.T testing within the electrical Dept.
The Labcar Support Technician will provide and share learning, and be problem solving resource to support business objectives. They shall be multi-skilled in application of the role, and operate in a safe and conscientious manner at all times, in line with business health and safety practices.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate in Accordance with GIT / MFT Processes
* Support the Pre-Series vehicle build phases using engineering tools, to ensure a quality and electrically sound vehicle completed for the Gesamt Integration Test (GIT).
* Support Whole Vehicle, Pre-Series and Engineering during the installation of electrical components on the first vehicles during each phase of the project.
* To diagnose and rectify electrical and electronic issues on Labcar vehicles, using the relevant engineering tools and utilising the technical resources within EE and throughout

Engineering.
* To resolve electrical and electronic issues quickly and effectively whilst documenting rectification procedures which can be passed on the customer for future use.
* Provide feedback in a clear and concise manor on feasibility / problems encountered using different media.
* Use knowledge and experience to determine the most efficient way of carrying out tasks ensuring completion to customer requirements.
* Able to plan activities and prioritises own time with consultation and agreement.
* Take diagnostic logs of EE and customer vehicles to assist with issue root cause analysis and for reference purposes.
* Support the Engineering through the planning and execution of the Gesamt Integration Test (GIT).
* To update each GIT Labcar and Labrig vehicle to the BIL version list created by the Integration Engineer.

Actively Takes Part in Continuous Improvement Activities
* Uses the HIL software and hardware Engineers as an escalation route for any obstacles which cannot be overcome alone.
* Gather useful information related to the specific project(s) which may assist in the future, such as harness drawings, fuse layouts, schaltplannes, PDM data etc.
* Record quality information on resolutions/modifications and actively shares this information with the relevant customers.
* Collaborate with the EE customers to understand more efficient ways of working, moving away from paper copies where the scope allows.
* Actively put ideas forward in direct and indirect areas of responsibility.
* Use own initiative and skills to work alone and in teams to see jobs through to completion.

* Support training in appropriate skills base.
* Take a pro-active approach to own development in area of responsibility.
* Take part in structured training, internal and external.

* Wear appropriate PPE, and always work within Health & Safety standards.
* Have in-depth knowledge of the equipment for which directly responsible.
* Work in compliance with ISO/TS16949 and other relevant quality standards.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
 Qualified by Apprenticeship / extensive experience and skill and/or similar in a Core Skill.
 Experienced/Assessed/Competent in a Second Skill.
