The Role:
* This position requires the technical evaluation of solutions to ensure the smooth and consistent implementation of sustainable global supply chain solutions - both for inbound and outbound material. The scope encompasses specific technologies for all vehicle platforms, projects and current vehicle model year changes.

* This role is responsible for the local development and delivery of key areas within the overall Logistics Strategy which supports budgetary targets and business goals.

* This position requires the use of project management and solution innovations to support all product and business requirements within a cross functional team.

* This position requires the ability to support and lead in various cross functional problem solving groups, aligned to the implementation of various business driven requirements

Main Responsibilities

1. Development and implementation of Logistics strategies for Inbound and Outbound material supply to support specific technologies:
a. Project management - design, develop, business approval & implementation
b. Procurement of materials - support budget setting requirement, raise orders and manage delivery
c. Process implementation - work with cross functional teams to deliver supply chain solutions
d. Alignment to business and group guidelines - design and maintain solution which support business guidelines

2. Product evaluation for logistics budgets:
a. Investment - support assessment and setting of logistics investment budgets
b. Planning and Launch - support evaluation of project revenue requirements
c. Cost per Car (CPC) - support evaluation of CPC impacts with cross functional team

3. Logistics Planning Round evaluation to support specific technologies:
a. Volume Planning - assess volume requirement against planning assumptions.
b. Investment - identify investment requirements
c. Site Strategy - assess business planning effects on overall Logistics footprint, evaluating process' and ownership

4. Logistic Process Validation
a. Process adherence - maintain all processes to agreed quality standards to support and deliver VCA, VDA 6.3 approval.
b. Business / VW Group guide lines - processes maintained within guidelines
c. Continuous Improvements - maintain culture of continuous improvement to support financial targets set within business goals and the VW Group forum for material cost (FMK).

5. Business measures - Key Goals and Beyond 18 targets
a. Pulse - support improvement activities to ensure Colleague engagement in Pulse activities and business targets are achieved year on year
b. Strategy Planning - Align all planning activities to business targets and key goals

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* A proven track record of delivering strategic and logistical solutions within the automotive industry
* Experience in benchmarking and best practice in project development
* Previous relevant experience of TS16949 or equivalent Quality standard and requirements for Logistics
* Demonstrate experience of:
− Operating at a strategic and operational level
− Effective communication with a range of people / audiences
− Strong influencing and negotiation skills with external suppliers and customers
− Planning and complex problem solving
− Cross functional working

* Good knowledge of Supply Chain development and delivery:
- Just in Sequence solutions
- EDI (Electronic Data Interchange)
- Packaging design and development
- Computer Aided Design (CAD)
- Budget construction and management
- Tender generation and deployment

* High level of IT literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project)
*Good knowledge of automotive global supply ch
