The Role:
To oversee vehicle certification for powertrain subjects; noise, power, emissions, fuel economy, etc.

To undertake Powertrain Type Approval/Certification data management to support various major markets.

To work with functional system owners to ensure that all powertrain data relating to the Type Approval of vehicles/systems/components is available on-time and entered into the correct documents enabling certification.

Scope of the Role:
1. Support and Lead Certification Approval of Assigned Subjects
To work proactively with the functional feature and system owners to ensure that legislative and certification requirements are "designed-in" at the earliest appropriate stage.

2. Delivery of Projects
Responsible for Type Approval/Certification market specific data, that when used for Homologation is compliant with regulations and otherwise fit for purpose (including product liability requirements) and which satisfy Manufacturing, Service and Conformity of Production requirements.

Responsible for planning, monitoring and expediting data and documentation.

Collect, manage and analyse data to produce reports/presentations as appropriate and progress design guidelines. Deliver presentations at appropriate level.

3. Problem Solving
Ability to solve complex Engineering related problems. Analysis and management of several design related issues to identify the root cause.

4. Developing and Maintaining Specialist Knowledge
Responsible for keeping the team up-to-date with technology in area of responsibility. Capture learning from previous experience. Understand and maintain liaison with group partners to keep up to date with latest group developments.

Additional Info:
Identify Engineering solutions to meet the requirements of the legislation whilst supporting project objectives.

This role will involve dealing with large quantities of data including handling and processing

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualifications:
* Engineering Degree or equivalent experience

Skills and Experience
* A background in emissions testing and powertrain engineering is preferred but not essential.
* Design and development skills.
* Ability to influence colleagues within your area of responsibility.
* Skills required by local area.
* Ability to solve problems.
