The Role:
Main Goals & Objectives:

This role is responsible for the long term forecasting of material requirements in line with the overall production plan, the maintenance of the shorter term requirements in the Materials planning system (SAP) and the processing of the car orders from Sales taking into account any build restrictions. This role is responsible for negotiating and co-ordinating with the relevant technologies/functions to ensure that a resolution is achieved and that continuity of production is protected when there is a request to accept orders above the agreed restrictions.

This role is responsible for monitoring on a daily and weekly basis the orders as they progress through the different technologies and publishing productions achievement against the plan.

This role is responsible for the prioritisation of the cars for Sales to ensure that production achieve the company passed to sales plan and producing the relevant KPI's which are issued both internally and externally to VW Group.

This position will also plan the despatch and stock holding of bodies from Group sources and the tracking of adherence to the agreed level, with the target to keep an ideal stock level. The planning includes the coordination of issues and resolution of those.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Planning & Forecasting
a) Maintain the long term forecast in SAP and EPL by utilising and analysing the regional requirements from Sales and Marketing, this is then utilised to provide a forecast of material requirements for external suppliers and VW Group partners.
b) Maintain and adjust the short term build plan for the relevant technologies (Paint shop and Small Parts paint) in SAP in line with the latest Production build rates , this provides a more detailed plan by day to the external suppliers.
c) Produce weekly reports to ensure that the forecast in the system (SAP) is in line with the latest production volumes and if there are any variances identified the necessary action is taken.
d) Produce detailed build plans for all relevant technologies this includes the body shop, paint shop and engine build etc.
e) Produce a daily paint shop priority sheet for all products to provide a list of required bodies to support the assembly line
f) Attend the daily start of shift paint shop meeting to communicate the logistics requirements and the paint shops attainment of the production plan.

2.Responsibility in one of these two areas: Order Control and Sequencing or Body planning
2.1. Order Control & Sequencing
a) Process sales orders through the relevant VW systems in line with the production plan / regional schedule taking into account any orders which have extended lead times i.e. Bespoke paint orders or Motor Show orders.
b) Analyse the orders received from Sales & Marketing and taking into account the sequence / build restrictions set the target sequence (Pearl Chain)
c) Set the sequence for each technology (Paint and Small Parts paint) taking into account extended lead time orders to ensure delivery of the target sequence for assembly.
d) Receive order change requests from several areas of the business and negotiate with the relevant technologies and Logistics to decide whether the changes can be made. Once agreement has been reached the order is modified in the relevant VW system.
2.2. Order Control & Sequencing
a) Negotiate with counterparts at VW Sachsen, VW Bratislava or Porsche to ensure a smooth and consistent body delivery plan to support build in Crewe and a correct level of inventory at Bentley.
b) Monitor, analyse and report on the body inventory and on adherence of Group suppliers to the agreed delivery plan, including the provision of a body stock forecast in line with the Planning Round time line.
c) Coordinate issues when deviations between plan and actual occur.
3. Reporting
a) Monitor production achievement against the plan through the major technologies by using data from the various systems. These reports are updated daily and made visible to the Business through the intranet.
b) Produce ad hoc FIS reports upon request to support various departments' requirements; this is done by specifying the parameters required to produce the bespoke information.
c) Produce bespoke reports upon request to support various departments' requirements; these include reports on car status , feature uptake and forecast build requirements etc.
4. Pre Series Planning
a) To ensure that the pre series bodies and small parts are launched into the paint facilities in line with the pre-series plans for all pre-series build phases (VFF/PVS and OS) for all the various projects and communicate to the business.

 Previous Logistics experience essential
 Production control - monitoring and reporting
 Production planning for Pre Series production phases
 Production planning process and systems knowledge.
 Training of other Team members
 Interpersonal skills

Practical & Technical Knowledge:
 Excellent communication skills
 Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Excellent presentation skills
 PP Module experience in SAP
 Excellent numeracy skills
