The Role:
* Lead the problem solving for all issues originating in the production zone(s)
* Expert knowledge holder for all processes within the production zone
* Support Production zones as the first point of escalation for all problems within the process.
* This is a technical role within the LQC function.

Scope of the Role:
1. Zone Support
* Lead issue investigation and implement rapid containments to protect the customer
* Prioritize own actions based on severity of issues under investigation
* Support the zone as first point of escalation for problems within the process
* Monitor zone quality metrics/KPIs and react to issues
* Raise production concessions to support issue containment / resolution
* Gain agreements from support functions e.g. Engineering/SQA/Logistics to raise permits covering containment actions until series fixes can be implemented
* Gain agreement for issue closure through engineering change

2. Problem Solving
* Lead problem investigations to determine root cause through Level 0/\level 1 problem solving process
* Approach problems in a structured way applying recognized problem solving tools and techniques
* Ensure good problem definition
* Gather data to clarify problem
* Analyze measurement data to determine root cause
* Accountable for robust problem containment
* Manage issues to resolution within the zone
* Key knowledge holder for all problems and resolution actions within the zone

3. Communication
* Communicate at all levels across the organization, written and verbal
* Lead weekly zone reviews to share status of zone issues with wider team
* Explain complex issues in a clear and concise way
* Use KPIs to demonstrate zone performance and issues status
* Extract key information from situations through listening
* Influence others through reasoned argument to accept issues and help resolve

4. People
* Responsible for ensuring that all solutions are assessed against the company health and safety framework
* Responsible for personal development

5. Quality
* Drive the production zone to achieve quality targets
* Use data to measure the zone performance (DPV/Audit) and instigate problem solving investigations

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* HNC in an Engineering discipline OR
* Demonstrable Manufacturing Experience OR
* Degree level in Engineering/Manufacturing/Science

Skills and Experience:
* Technically competent in product assembly, process design, facilities and standardised work methodology.
* Demonstrable experience at cross functional working within a Manufacturing or Production environment.
* Good working knowledge / experience of processes and business legislation (inc. Health & Safety).
* Is able to provide technical support to the production teams.
* Demonstrates good communication skills at all levels across the business.
* Experience in the application of Continuous Improvement and problem solving tools and techniques.

Practical & Technical Knowledge:
* Technically competent in product manufacturing processes, Group and business processes, process design and standardised work.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and measurement data.
* Knowledge of key Healt
