The Role:
Product life-cycle management of the product line, ensuring achievement of project milestones and business revenue targets. Includes market-based product & feature definition, project delivery liaison, market communication & launch planning and responsibility for on-going commercial success.

Collaborates with market regions, central departments including the Product Marketing organisation and external agencies as required.

This role is specifically responsible for the client's bespoke and made to order product line and its derivatives, global editions and options.

Key Responsibilities Include:
1. Product & Feature Positioning & Definition
a. Coordinates market analysis and develop clear market positioning and definition of winning products and features that deliver on the brand.
b. Provides clear market and fact-based input to the product development process of the product line.
c. Works with market regions, central strategic and research functions and project in product definition and communication across the business

2. Lifecycle Planning
a. Reviews and analyses current and future market performance for the product line considering competitor activity
b. Liaises with engineering regarding technology trends and potential customer feature solutions
c. Proposes and integrates actions before, during and throughout the product and feature lifecycle to meet the business volume and revenue requirements

3. Feature Portfolio Management
a. Establish model/derivative specific targets with Finance
b. Define options portfolio considering cross car alignment, regional requirements and optimisation of pack strategy. Liaise with mainstream product marketing and branded goods teams.
c. Secure implementation of features, derivatives and editions (across the business) to deliver on annual revenue targets throughout the Planning Round horizon and Product Lifecycle
d. Ensure marketing and project plans are aligned to business revenue targets for derivatives and options.

4. Feature Communications
a. Review the macro environment conditions (purchase motives, market dynamics, and competitor actions).
b. Consolidate key product differentiators down to a concise set of strengths.
c. Formulate key messages & positioning and lead the roll out of product messages across the business and regions.
d. Support dealer training activities by developing and delivering product content

5. Project Delivery
a. Acts as functional representative for Sales & Marketing in cross-functional project delivery teams (including deputising for Head of Marketing Strategy & Pricing at management reviews up to Board level)
b. Drives delivery of Sales & Marketing product emergence (PEP) deliverables, on time and to appropriate quality, throughout PEP timescale.
c. Take ownership within Sales & Marketing to ensure a strong launch plan is implemented
d. Support launch planning ensuring coordination between the project, Sales & Marketing regions and central functions

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Skills & Experience:
* A significant level of relevant automotive experience demonstrating strong business acumen
* Demonstrable experience of lifecycle management
* Field experience in the area of sales/dealer contact would be of benefit
* Strong appreciation of the voice of the customer and of customer values
* Experience in leading/influencing in cross-functional project teams
* Excellent organisational and planning skills
* Outstanding ability to communicate at all levels externally and internally
* Ability to influence people
* Problem solving and multi-tasking abilities and strong channel management required

Practical & Technical Knowledge:
* A detailed understanding of the current and historic automotive environment
* A good understanding of the core principles of marketing and experience of their deployment

Qualifications:
* Educated to degree level, preferably in Business/Marketing
