The Role:

Supporting the design team with advanced engineering studies to ensure appropriate and efficient development of Design proposals for vehicle development.

SCOPE OF ROLE

* Support the development of design proposals, from initial concept through to manufacturing feasibility, in CAD, in an agreed time frame.
* Assessing package and feasibility issues with Design, Concepts and Engineering teams and proposing innovative solutions
* Document the feasibility of design themes and highlight challenges
* Describe and transfer engineering and legislative requirements to Design
* Supports Design development proposals cross functionally within the business and with outside companies when required.
* Support creation of timing and project plans for specified area of responsibility in agreement with the Studio Engineering Manager.

POSITION IN COMPANY

Report to the Studio Engineering Manager.
Liaise closely with all Designers, CAD Modellers, Clay Modellers and Engineers.
Liaise with technical functions and departments within the organisation.
Liaise with external Companies and Suppliers in agreement with his/her Manager.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

Mechanical Engineering Qualification, ONC Minimum requirement.
Proven experience working as a Studio/Concept Engineer within a studio environment.
Proficient in CATIA V5.
Good working knowledge of PC tools, e.g. Powerpoint, excel, Word
Understanding of the vehicle development process and vehicle engineering
Excellent communication and team work
