The Role

The TPM supports in the successful achievement of the Engineering project deliverables.
Representative in relevant Platform, Business and Group forums deputising for the Project Leader when necessary.
The TPM facilitates and coordinates the Engineering delivery and technical status of relevant Projects to the agreed Product Emergence Process.
The role covers technical projects aligned to a platform.
The TPM can deputise in the lead of a Model Year programme whilst still reporting to the Project Leader.

Main Responsibilities

* Deployment of relevant Engineering strategies into the project in support core competence and project delivery.

Target Setting and Delivery:
* Enable process of technical target setting in line with PEP deliverables for the project.
* Ensure delivery of Engineering PEP deliverables including early warning KPI systems in place to instigate problem solving and any necessary corrective actions or timely decisions (including Current Model Programmes)
* Ensure communication of Engineering status and key Project information within the Engineering matrix organisation.

Control and Change:
* Collate Engineering data in preparation for inclusion in relevant project review papers and ensuring quality and accuracy.
* Ensure defined Engineering processes are used in a consistent way inside individual projects for the project.
* To support the Engineering change management process.

Engineering Project Management:
* Manage inputs and flow of Engineering topics.
* Manage required Engineering delivery events.
* Be a conduit for inputs and responses into Platform developer (Group) Engineering Forums
* To work as part of the cross functional team to facilitate the correct and timely inputs in problem solving.
* Taking the lead where agreed for model year programmes.

Skills & Experience

Demonstrable experience in an automotive engineering environment.
Proven track record of successful deliveries of vehicle systems or as a project manager of smaller vehicle projects.
People influencing skills essential
Strong interpersonal skills and a high level of self-motivation.

Practical & Technical Knowledge

Working knowledge of a Product Emergence Process (PEP) obtained in the automotive industry. Detail knowledge of Engineering deliverables within PEP.
Demonstrable knowledge of vehicle development programmes and techniques.
A broad knowledge of automotive systems development, technical concepts and specifications
Experience with digital product development techniques and principles.


Degree or equivalent in Engineering Discipline.
Chartered Engineer preferred.
German language desirable.
